Hi! I placed an order for new PC on a whim.

What's a good 27" OLED monitor for a 5070Ti GPU, please?

From online searches, seems like it should be either of

  • MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED
  • Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP

What are the pros & cons of the above pair? Any other/better recommendations?

It really depends on whether the games you play can benefit from high refresh rate or not. 240Hz is definitely too slow for me but I also don't want to go below 4K.

If you value visual quality and high resolution desktop experience then go with a 27" 4K 240.

If you play a fast fps game then 27" 1440p 480/500Hz. Some games like Apex Legend and COD doesn't go above 300fps so buying a high refresh monitor doesn't really help.

Prices still a bit high for me to swallow. Especially when OLED has a life span.

ATM, I would much rather pick a 27" mini led monitor instead until the prices come further down or if the tech further matures to last longer.

And not like I don't have any OLED products. Got a LG c2 2 years ago to see what's the fuss all about. While good, I don't think I would pay a similar scaled down price for a smaller monitor.

Life span on monitor is not really a concern honestly, no matter which monitor tech there are always rma request even before warranty expire. The only care of OLED was probably more frequently need user intervention compre other monitor tech.

2725Q is flat. Waiting to get mine hopefully this week.

I may go for a 32" monitor since I am going to spend up to $2000 on it. 😅

Head pain from reading up on the various models. The minute differences in models with the slightly different letter-combinations are doing my head in.

That's true if I'm only gaming. But I'm not. Text clarity also another issue.

1440p will have text fringe yes but it is not visible at 4k
Right. And it's questionable to me to pay so much yet have to deal with text clarity issues.

This is why I'm perfectly happy with mini led until prices drop further or if it improves longevity.

yeah i do agreed on your perspective.

i persoanlly still going oled because i wanted to avoid blooming in IPS panel even miniLED can exceed 1300nits in HDR with thousands of zone, but when it come to bright bloat like fireworks details OLED still catch the details better overall.

Upon reading, found out that 2m-long VESA-certified DP80 DisplayPort cables are hard to come by.

Had to place an order from Amazon US for one. 😔
