I'm looking to invest in a durable backpack, around 40 to 50 litres...budget $200.

Any recommendations and places to get it?

Thanks.

That is a fairly generous budget to get a good backpack. The usual places to check are Queensway Shopping Centre and Penisular.

There is a shop at Chinatown Point selling all outdoor stuff. It located at level 2, U can try there. They got hiking shoes, backpack and all kind of stuff for outdoor there. Otherwise, go to Novena square, there are a few outdoor shop there.

Have you been to Bonkers Link @ Lvl1 Queensway? They carry a lot more brands than Deuter. And some of the brands the uncle brings in are not found anywhere else in SG.

I'm not sure...don't think so...I might have missed that shop despite circling level 1 a few times

Went to the shop today..I must say the uncle is very helpful...but didn't buy anything...might be going down to get it...

because I'm thinking if 55 litres might be too big

55L is not too big if you are storing everything for a backpacking trip... in fact it may not be enough :s12: But if you need a daypack then 55L is overkill

I did some research online and get an Osprey at Sport Connection (Bugis/Westmall) I think but seriously I feel most of the backpacks does not have much difference. Really depend on your needs,

External Frame or Internal Frame
Able to remove the Frame
Compartment for your needs
& the weight of the backpack

I use an Osprey myself. Its advantage was its light weight. Of course it has to be comfortable and strong too.

I am also using an Osprey. Still going strong after 5 years and numerous trips.

I guess the place has been taken over by Myanmar businesses. This is the complex with the Bata downstairs. Another place to look is Sports Connection at Funan Centre.
