Deuters are pretty heavy for their capacity.

If you are looking for lightweight backpacks with waiststraps, Ospreys are a good choice. The lightest one is the Hornet (600g for the 32L. There's also a 40+L version).

If you are not carry much and don't need an internal frame or waiststrap, then a good rucksack will do. A lightweight one from Jansport, Nike, etc, will be fine.

Gregory, Osprey, Northface are good but pricey.

I'm using High Sierra, not bad and light weight. Bought directly from Amazon with shipping cost me around $120+ while shops quoted me around $160.

i have a vaude astra. 5 years and counting.. if you are planning to use it for long, i think brand and durability matters.

hi is Outgear a good pack?? saw it at the airport t3 and it didn't seem very expensive...

most ppl here would recommend Osprey/Hornet/North Face....but i think they're quite pricey...

i personally use a Outgear Alpinist 50L. cheaper, quite decent, used a few years already. been through countless luggage belts & cabin storage. no major issues except for a minor issue with a zip=:p

for some reason, its hard to find any Outgear info via Google...

i was thinking of an osprey but thought if outgear wasn't that bad i'll give it a try first cause i wouldn't really 'officially' start backpacking anytime soon. thanks by the way!! :) :)

I'm using the same Outgear alpine 50L bag pack. Been trotting around Europe for 2 months now. Served me well through countless baggage carousels. It might be an issue if it's super full cos I had some issues with the size on Ryanair. But otherwise this is a sturdt and affordable bag pack. Go around and try it for yourself. Different brands like osprey, deuter, north face are slightly more comfortable alternatives that are more "branded".

Army market is where the bags might be cheaper. I purchased mine from the travel sales bazaar at Takashimaya. You can go to normal sports shops to get an idea of what bags suit your needs before heading down to the army market or some sales event.

Would like to sell my travel backpack as not using it anymore.

Only used for one trip. Almost new. Only can be bought in the UK, I got it there, unavailable in Singapore.
It is great, has compartments and also a cover to cover all straps for use on check-in

Original price $150
Letting go for $75 (negotiable)

Unable to post links/pics yet, pls google
