Hi, I'm looking to get a laptop for less than $700.

Main Usage: MS Office, Youtube Videos, Web surfing

Preferences:
1) 13/14" Screen
2) < 2kg (Lighter is better)
3) Dell/Hp if possible (But other brands are fine as well)
4) Good battery life is a plus

Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks!

Consider 2nd hand. But please please go and ascertain the condition and the specs, etc. Don't be left with a lemon. If it's too cheap it's too good to be true.

You are more likely to find a decently speced Lenovo unit around that price. Go for the T410 or T420. More than enough to satisfy your needs. Look for something around at least 4GB RAM, 8GB is better. Get a SSD too.

Confirm less than $700.

If need more advice pls ask.

Hi, thanks alot for the advice! I am not looking to buy second-hand though.

Any idea on the performance of Celeron processors? I know they are worse than present generation i3 processors, but how bad is it?

Looking at this currently:

The ideapads are known for being sluggish after 1 - 3 years of use. If you willing to accept that then I guess it's fine...

Actually this problem can be solved easily by replacing the hdd with ssd. Just buy the cheap samsung or crucial 250 gb for 100-120$

Actually you guys can simple search from carousell.
Lenovo ThinkPad X240 to X260 it's great buy, some condition still very mint.
The selling still in your budget.
Should look from there, if I'm wrong :s13:
