I remembered someone asking me if long johns were needed. At -deg temperature without long johns you were "die"..hehe :)

If still wondering what Korean souvenirs to buy for friends and relatived....Korean stainless chopstick and spoon set is a good buy (if you can get a pair 1500 to 2000 wons is okay price).

Okay have fun for those leaving for Korea, take care and enjoy:)

Im still alive =) All along i don't wear long john..be it -5 or -10 i also don't wear. 1500 to 2000 you get nothing, it's not cheap to get metal chopsticks and spoon :)

Generally not all people are as fit as you. Staying indoor with heater most of the time of cause you no need long Johns even at -20 deg. Try standing at -5 to -10 deg snowing for long hours (as for most of tourist like us who travel from place to place) in the open then you say.

My wife got our stainless chopsick and spoon sets at 1500won (original price 2000won) after some persisent bargaining from some street hawkers. Maybe you visit high end places that's why you get nothing for 1000 to 2000 won. The cut throat DFS store sells the chopstick sets at 3000 won each.

PyongYong Ski Resort was only promised at Genting Holiday Office when I made the booking. Upon reaching Korea, nothing was mentioned about PyongYong Ski Resort just was told we are going skiing on day X.

On day X, unsure about routes in Korea and where the bus is heading, the bus brought us to this Ski resort, was looking at all over the place and found out it was Vivaldi Ski Resort. Too late to complain by then hence just enjoy my first ski experience. The atmosphere at Vivaldi was great, crowded with people all enjoying themselves, so just keep quite and no complain for me..hehe

Guess PyongYong Ski Resort is not much different from Vivaldi except the Winter Sonata fame.

Since your trip is coming, maybe you like to reflect this to Genting Holidays.

not realli..... winter sonata fame aside, yong pyong resort actualli has a gondola (cable car ride) at 10000 won for ple to take up to the top of the ski resort and then hav a nice time taking pics there, d scenary up there is great!!!! even managed to witness falling snow up there, imagine how happi all of us were :)

anyway im just back from korea on jan 6, went wif CTC.. wonderful experience there, my tour leader is not just to accompany us, she also helped us in settling hotel issues, n also taking photos sometimes.... tour guide is a korean chinese, veri jovial n talkative, we knew alot of stuff from him, we even played snow up at mount sorak wif him!! photographer is also a veri nice lady, she helped us took lots n lots of nice pic, i sweared those she took cant b compared wif mine.... hence, i spent almost till my last penny to grab all the pics she took for mi.... yes, photographer depends on the $$ we pay for the pics to earn tips, hence if u dont buy from him/her, they wont earn anything.....

Don't be misled by sunny weather (view from airport glass window to outside) over there. Temperature still could be negative with the sun. Freezing cold.

Yap, the food was surprising ok, much better than I initially expected.
We were expecting to slim down after the trip cos afraid the food not to our liking.
In the end, added 2kg on the body instead!
My group has 22 people in total. Dun think anyone extended their tours.
All go together and come back together...

Just back on saturday. Really cold there. my thermal saved my life. Lotte World closed cos there were a few incidents late last year and the whole theme park need repairs. goverment forced them to close early.

Went with ASA, they replaced it with Jump! too. quite funny show. Food was really enjoying tasted all types, bbq, steamboat, mushroom steam boat, bibimbab, etc...

Vivaldi Ski resort was spectacular ! but very crowded all day long, i stay at the resort can see the ski area from room. But sadly did not encounter any snow, the guide say cos its not humid enough. only rained one of the nights.
But overall enjoyed the skiing!! :)
