Do check out Obenauf's watershield. :)

Marv had received so many requests to develop a more powerful waterproofing formula that he invested heavily in research and development to create a new product that would satisfy our demanding customers. The challenge was to create something that would provide extraordinary waterproofing for both leather and non-leather items that would not damage leather fibers. The result is our Silicone Water Shield, a high silicone content suspended in a non-chemical, water solution. This remarkable product offers water repellent features you will find far superior to other protectants currently on the market and it contains no harmful aerosols or suspension chemicals that will damage your leather.

Water-based silicone can be sprayed on leather, as well as fabrics, for additional waterproofing. It will not harm it, but it will not preserve it. You still need to restore proper oils into the leather using our LP or Oil products, and then you can spray over it periodically. Be very careful to avoid silicones with warning labels, especially aerosols, that contain harmful chemicals as carriers. They're harmful to you, your environment, and your leather.

Obenauf's Watershield:

Repels water better and longer.
Contains NO harmful chemicals that might damage your item.
Will NOT harm glues or stitching as other products.
Environmentally safe.
Over 16% silicone!

Please Note: Our Watershield is recommended for use on leather only when you are properly restoring oils by using our LP or Oil products.

anyone bought from here before?

Better not risk, I have deal with him before was close to send him money too. I was after a 41.5 which he claimed that he had but didn't post on ebay. Instead he directly sent me a paypal invoice for the shoes. This means i will not be under ebay protection if i commited and indirectly seller is saving on ebay fees too. When i questioned him why can't he post it on ebay, he told me it will be sold fast. So i offered to buy a different size and told him to amend the ebay invoice accordingly and never heard from him since.

In the end, a friend of mine from US got the shoes from Red wing HQ. BTW they do not ship overseas. I am a fairly inactive member and cannot post any pics here. The package came earlier and absolutely rocks. Free key chains, shoe horn, coasters, laces, anniversary lace holders... and i bought a RW distressed T shirt alongside, the material is thicker than local version. Damn good deal. All up for $230 USD: T shirt + 875 + freebies(wonder if my friend paid for those :s13:. He did pay for the freight as a gift to me. Damn paiseh to ask him to do it again.

My friend in US told me, the flagship store do have factory seconds meaning can choose to buy either the shelf quality or the sub standard item. They are quite open to state the flaw and that they come from inspections. Thus there are buyers who specifically get the cheaper items and resell them elsewhere. When i asked aren't the seconds marked with holes on the tongue. I was told its not always the case. That flagship store is also home to the largest boot(875) on the planet. :s13: 315 Main Street Red Wing MN a store cum museum, one day i hope to visit.
