just got my first pair of red wing 1907 .. so i was wondering how do i maintain the leather ?
as such , i send an email to red wing USA and it was their reply

The recommended care products for style 1907 are leather cleaner and mink oil. The leather cleaner helps to lift dirt and particles from leather surfaces without drying or damaging the leather. It is a water based formula that is environmentally safe and gentle to the natural fibers of the leather. Mink oil is known for its softening and conditioning qualities.

after which , i went down to suntec and spoke to the staff .. he said that the shop dont carry leather cleaner and mink oil is not suitable for 1907 .. and said that should use silicone waterproofing instead .... so now i abit confused ...

anyone with 1907 can enlighten me how to maintain the leather ?

not oil.. i put one on mine and it completely changed its exotic original leather color.. now mine looked like very dark brown.. just the obenauf LP enough already.

I encountered the same for my 1907.the staff showed me a bottle of spray & advices not to use oil..also said that cream based product (like obenauf) better to avoid if want to preserve the original color..anyone else can confirm?
