I encountered the same for my 1907.the staff showed me a bottle of spray & advices not to use oil..also said that cream based product (like obenauf) better to avoid if want to preserve the original color..anyone else can confirm?

another bro had advised me to use the obenauf also ... i have a friend who told me that using simple and cheap product is good enough ..

he told me to get the Kiwi shoe polish (neutral colour ) cost 2 plus and get a brush. i got them at NTUC for about $5 plus ...

first , use a cloth to clear the dirt off ..

next, take the brush and dab a little bit of the shoe polish and brush ...

it would make the colour of the boots slightly darker though but not that noticeable ... it will leave a slight layer of wax ...

normal usage will have smudges and superficial scratches .. so at the end of the day , just brush ... the surface will become smooth and even ...

reapplication of the shoe polish should be done when the wax is gone ....

so far my 1907 still looking good after one month ... any bros here using the KIWI shoe polish ?

many gd reviews on obenauf.Using it on my daily work shoes as well.But the 1907 has nice color by default and I want to preserve it without darkening too much.I've just tried applying small amount on a small part and it seems to appear slightly darker..

dun apply too much or too long will not darken... or maybe just slightly..
dun take it out for suntan too...unless u want it to be tanned.

U can Try the kiwi shoe polish neutral colour then ..

I was abit apprehensive also initially ...cos Don't want to ruin the leather .. I applied abit on the tongue .. Turned out fine so end up applying the whole boots making the surface smooth and even with slight glow .. The scratches all gone .. Like i said earlier , darkened the colour slightly and ... but after a while , colour will fade back to it's orginal colour ...
