if u have too many boots, u get to wear each of them lesser delaying the aging of the leather

Thanks... Actually Japan prices look pretty decent too about ¥30-33K for most models, hence the temptation to hoot.

Everytime I get something, it's supposed to "can wear for a few years", but end up cannot resist temptation to get another good pair.

damn smooth like the Horween Cordovan on my wrist! but those shoes cost US$700 to USD$1200! around 2.5X or more than our regular redwing.

Work boot vs dress boot mah. The blue collar worker doesn't give a rat's ass about creasing. Dress boot/shoe market pay the extra for premium cuts to justify wastage.

Blue collar work aren't getting those made in USA redwing. Most buy those safety red wing boots made in China

Maker doesn't care buy buyer cares, else we wouldn't be discussing it here. Moreover $400 boots or usd$200 boots are not in blue collar budget

That's cos blue collar wages in USA including minimum wage laws come up to be much higher than in sg. These guys definitely can afford red wings and all the more so when they are priced cheaper than in orchard gateway

Creasing is pretty normal, just wear your boots out. Even Vibergs at 700+ USD creases.

Min wage isn't a lot just usd$7-8
Blue collar jobs in states makes around usd$40-50k.
Living in states I am not finding blue collar workers wearing USA made boots. When boots are sold at Nordstrom rack it's meant for the wealthy

Most of the "blue-collar"? mates I've met get much more than the min wage. They were in more professional environments though, like electricians, construction site QC, machinist, riggers etc. They also got personal protection equipment allowance for some.

They do buy USA made but it ranges from Thorogood, Danner, Wolverine, Chippewa, Whites, not only RW. Whatever is more value for money.

construction sites dont make alot of money, min wage of $9 a year is usd$18K a year. $40-50K is much more than min wage. even with the new proposal of us$15 its still usd$30K a yr. note if company dont provide good insurance its like another few K off their income. on the high side some/few makes US$80K. blue collar in OZ makes more, been to plants in Texas, KY, Indiana making electronic parts and sheet metal and they not making so much. Union workers in the past with OT can make over US$80-100K, that has changed quick with the collapse in manufacturing.

Wolverine mostly done in china too. Many has allowance and its like us$200 thru company purchase program for big company.

in fact many have relocated and make in china with efforts to cut cost today.

I had a pair bought from grailed sometime back. creasing is normal for all cow hides especially chromeexcel which I believe is the highest grade of cow hide available from horween? (correct me if I'm wrong). My chevalier captoe uses horween chromeexcel and the creases came right out of the box. Just wabisabi
