What are the best RW for the winter travelling bros?

If u need waterproof and insulation, here are your options
https://www.redwingshoes.com/footwear/filter-200g-thinsulate,400g-thinsulate,600g-thinsulate,800g-thinsulate,gore-tex,red-wing-waterproof

If u asking the heritage collection they do not have insulation like thinsulate of goretex

Winter where? LA winter no issue, Chicago or New York with a lot of snow and ice.. u want to read below.

I believe Red Wing Singapore has their in-house person for resole or customisation, but not cheap. Alternative they always recommend customers to go shukey, but we all know the reviews from the latter... So far I haven't heard a great option locally in Singapore sadly.
Anyway I saw a tiny shop near the Redhill market, inside had any boots and sneakers which are seem to be waiting for works. Workmanship and price no idea though

Yes, heard about this service before. But not much local live photos floating around. Yours likely the rare ones. :D
(Not cheap also right. :p )

Hi bros,

I currently own a pair of Redwings Iron Range 8119 and Classic Moc 875. As the boots are made for tough work in the past, I was wondering if any of you bros wear them out for rugged activities like hiking or rock climbing?

Hmm they are built for rough tough work. But aren't sure if they suitable for rock climbing, may not give you the grip?

Few things to consider.
Is your pair very seasoned already? Else the walking of rough terrain in the boots may kill your feet before you are physically tired out
Are you prepared for the boots to be trashed mud soil water? Because some I know treasure their boots alot.

I tried wearing 875 and 8165 for holidays where there are lotsa walking, tbh not that suitable. Thus I bought 8106, being low cut it is less rugged but I feel it's better for wearing longer hours and distance. That's my personal opinion lah.

Thanks bro for the advise.

Tbh, the boots now i wear seems broken in but I personally feel its not too "seasoned" yet. I am wearing it to office to even meet customers now and yet hoping that i can brave the soil, mud and water. In my army days, my boots are quite scuffed due to SOC and the number of outfields I went.

I do hope to treasure these 2 pairs of boots but felt that "treasuring" them sounds too princess for my liking.

Pardon me if I sound contradicting. I am trying to find the balance for both extreme ends.

No problem, just sharing my slight experience and personal opinion nia.
TBH if it's me, I will say saf leather boots is the king for rough tough rugged. Mine was the batch before they issue gortex, lucky me. Nsf issued two pairs boots right. Can you imagine I have been only using one pair, for combat and parade, the other pair is 99% new unworn. Partly lucky I am posted to logistic, no chiong sua... It's too tough liao, even now after I ROD this first pair still healthy good

My first pair is 8165, which I am a little disappointed I didn't protect it well, the outer layer is cracking peeling. Still my favorite pair especially on rainy days which I will even walk through rain puddle.
Then second pair is 875. It was between 8875 and 875, which I went for 875 because 8875 reddish is a little hard for me. 875 is more casual IMO, but good to match.
Last is 8106 for days wearing boots may be tiring. Sometimes I even wear it with berms... :p

Sorry to cut into Red Wing space here, anyone heard or has/had a pair of Lumberjacks boots before?
They look similar to RW 8138 and tanned leather too? Goodyear welted..I guess.
I mean I'm really into a pair 8138s but the price.. Ohh.
So really appreciate if anyone knows and could give out some feedbacks worth 150s?
The only info I have is that Shoe Clinic did posted a resole on this lumberjacks boots but that was like years ago.
