I though u were in the shop trying them out, isn't the adv here vs online is ensuring the right size? Boy this is confusing

I also did read a thing about size and as what I know we should buy 1 size smaller because as time goes by, it's may expand ?

Correct me if I am wrong ?

But I also buy the same size as what I usually wear US8.5...............

I did asked the RW shop and they told me it's looked OK on me..........

After I know my size on my Beckman, ordering online for that blue low cut pair really make me a bit of a worry as don't know is it OK or not but luckily it's fit nicely....................

It depends how he had explained to you. For me I like a good snug fit without much room. Those guys whom have done their ns before will know why the importance of a good fit.
BUT there is another school of theory for a bigger size. I was at orchard gateway RW store and Han had explained to me how a correct fit should be, and apparently its like 1 to 1.5 size larger than what I am wearing now.

Last and most important, u wear the shoe and not the shoe wears u. U must feel right.

So i am actually a size US 8 in Vans, Converse or sneakers. I dont have to down to size US 7? So RW Han is saying that we should stick to our original size?

Yes i was. But being the adviser or a professional there, he told me to take a size bigger, which is size US8. And i figured out that the shoe is too big for me when go out and wear. That is where my friend told me i actually have to take a size smaller, which is size US7

U there to try, profession tell u to size up but your feet are in size 7 feeling it fit good. So even he advises size 8, You try then on, your feet tells your brains well thats too big.

Or u just just took his advise buy size 8 go home to try to find out its way too big? Still if u there trying size 7 knowing it fits why would size up fit better? If u take home to try might as well buy online.

I wouldn't say they cheat u, just poor advise.

Quite doubtful about why u are wearing size 8 actually but how come a RW size 8 cannot fit u.

As what Han told me, if its E size, u need to size down by 1. If its D size, then it's same as your actual size.

Did the "professional" measure your feet with the equipment?

I think what you're trying to say is, currently, size US8 is fine. But you are worried that over time, it will expand and become ill fitting?

I've read about the upsize downsize thing. My mindset is, if you do downsize, you will probably get blisters from the tightness of the shoe. Even if you want to do it, I think that it should be +/- 0.5 max. The number represents the length of your feet in inches. Alphabet is the wideness of the footwear. It really doesn't make sense to drop from US8 to US7 (that is 1 full inch!). To illustrate, 1" is about the length of your big toe nail. In the long run, it will damage your feet. Instead, I think a better fit will be US 8D, if it is available. Talking generally here.

If you are US 8, then stick to US 8. Yea it MAY expand, but so what? All you need to do, in my opinion, is wear thicker socks. Unless what you're saying is that it is ALREADY too loose for you.

At the end of the day, everyone can advise you on sizing. But it all comes down to how your feel when you try your footwear. If it fits nice, it fits nice, period. There is no should or should not down size or up size.

The width size for me is ok. But the length wise is like 1 inch longer. And it looks big on me if compare to size US7E.

its really a misunderstood point about downsizing. You don't downsize your boots because the stretch is bare minimum and if the initial fit is already tight it won't get comfortable even after wearing for long time. Initial fit will be uncomfortable due to the stiffness of the leather not the size, take note. Rw are slightly vanity in sizing so size 8 depends on different model have slightly different sizing. My IR and 875 are of both different size.

Not every one feet are the same hence the length of your feet at different part is slightly different. When your measure, you are measuring the overall length and width of your feet but the placement of the arc of your feet is different between individual hence it is important to go down and try even you are buying online.

Simple guide for those going try, when you wear make sure the arc of your feet and ball of your feet is resting at the correct position of the boots if not it will take a long time for the inner leather sole to mould towards your feet which then you might still not feel comfortable.

Take advice from sales person as an opinion, you must feel comfortable wearing it.

On your own you need to understand your own sizing. You tried it on in the shop and it fits nicely, but you head out the next day and it's uncomfortable? No logic in that. The only blame is on you not testing your size and fitting properly and blindly following the SA.

The fact that it fits nicely in shop you should have walked around in it. Or when you tried it on at home and took a few steps, knowing that it is not your size, you should have kept it in the box as new and return for an exchange in size. Funny how you decided to wear it out when you its uncomfortable. Should have researched. When you wear your shoes/boots the first time, you need to fiddle around your toes and WALK in it. Wrong sizing on boots will ultimately leave your creases in the wrong area and/or deform your boots as well.

I'm a size 8US in dress shoes, 7.5US in wolverine boots and a 7US in RW IRs. Sizing is completely different depending on last/insoles/socks you are wearing. Wear the socks you would wear with the shoes when you are testing the size.

The worry about expand is true when it fits tightly. 1" of free room in length and E width is ok, this shows size 7E is not right size too. Get a 7.5E no stock wait. It's footwear I don't see an matter of life and death urgency to get.

Sales assistant is not in your shoes to tell it fit or no fit

I believe this is the same "problem" when some of the guys in the denim thread says they are advised by the SA to downsize by a few sizes for "good fit".
Ask yourself, what is a good fit? Is it something what others tell you, or what yourself feel so? Simple as that, it applies to the boots too.

There is no right or wrong, so long you feel comfortable wearing that pair of boots/denim.

If the stitching comes loose, its not a cosmetic defect. You should be given a new pair, but keep in mind it needs to be within the warranty period.

I did attach a picture of my stitching coming loose on this forum. You might have to flip through many pages to find it again. ><

As for warranty, the warranty of my 875 is only 6 mths when I bought it. I don't recall them telling me it was 12 mths.

And through my email with them, they said that within the warranty period, you are only eligible to 1 exchange. Yeah. I'll just let that sink it for a moment.



Well according to the staff, they said that the product transition to oro-legacy only started in later 2013 (so i was wrong that they changed in 2012), and suntec store did not have the inventory yet to change to the new oro-legacy. Hence, the batch we bought at late 2013, was still oro-iginal.

rangers should be snug fit when wearing ur socks. the leather will season over time so the shoe will be less suffocating after breaking in. 8111's leather is very hard until season

I just brought a pair of Cherry Beckman 9011 US Size 8.5 and just brought a Oxford 8100 Online also the same size and it's nicely fit......................

By the way, both are D ( narrow ) size.
