Yes the moc toes are more common but I do see some ginnas wearing iron rangers. I was at red wing at orchard gateway the other day and a ginna bought an iron ranger. There was also a little girl there with her mum and she was trying on a moc toe.

I'm not sure how u define beng but if u are referring to this kind of "profile" and it bothers u to know that u will be associated with such people, then my honest advice is stay away from red wings. There are lots of other boot brands that u can choose from. In anyways red wings aren't exactly known to have good quality when compared to other brands

Which brands better quality than red wind at the same price point of cheaper?

Chippewa.

Red wings has their own tannery and can easily mass produce around 5,000 pairs a day and yet they are priced at sgd 400-600 per pair. It really doesn't make sense to pay that premium when I can get cheaper red wings online or when in usa

For $600, I would get this ... Natural Horween® Chromexcel® leather ... drooling over it for very long already ...

Thanks. Should i size down 1 or 0.5inch? Sorry new to RW.

Sent from Samsung SM-N9005 using GAGT

Sizing is always tricky. Best is to go down to a shop and try for yourself. There's many places to try red wings but unlike everyone I would advice against going down to red wings at orchard gateway unless u really intend to buy from them. No doubt they offer the best service and appear to be the most knowledgeable amongst all the shops, but after everything if u don't buy, u can sense that they aren't exactly very happy after all that they have done for u

Just a word of caution :)

Hi guys, I'm planning to get a pair of iron rangers in either amber or copper. Do you guys feel that it's 'ah beng' or 'pai kia'? and which colour do you think would go better with dark blue jeans, since it is what i wear most of the time.

I dont think its very nice to judge people jsut by what shoes they are wearing... I myself am wearing red wings that look similar to what i think you call "beng", but mine is for work as they are steel toe safety boots. If you stop judging others, others' opinions wont matter as much to you.

Then why not just try the size and buy straight from the store locally. This way, you will be very sure you get the best advice for best fit. My 1st pair is 8165 from Feder Sports. Though the sales pax doesnt know much about Red Wing to give me fitting advice, but at least I was able to try in peace and buy eventually. After that, my 2nd pair is a 875 which I bought in HK.

Lets be fair. If u are a sales person and u know the customer is not sincere to buy from u, would u serve the customer with 100%? Touch the heart, I think most of us wouldnt have the morale to do also.

But back to store at Orchard Gateway. I think it was maybe 1 year ago i went there to check out if they carry small sizes Beckman series, I was given very good advice and attention by a gentleman by the name Han if I am not wrong. His knowledge and attitude is top notch. He doesnt hardsell pressure u to buy, but rather provide u the information he feels whats best and correct.

thats cos i feel the quantity and quality of service rendered cannot surpass the huge savings one can get when the same shoe is purchased online. i am talking much more than 50% savings here. to me, red wings is just a pair of shoes at the end of the day. its not like im shopping for a kidney transplant. when i was looking for my first pair, i already attained heaps of advice online and knew that i wanted a 1907. so u can say that even before i stepped into the redwing shop, i already knew what i wanted. all i had to do was nail the right size down, which took hardly 10 minutes. i just told the guy that i wanted to try 1907 in 3 different sizes to experiment which one felt best. he did measure my right foot on the brannock scale which could be some formality cos i ended up going with a size that wasn't true to the brannock.

All in all, 10 mins tops and i was out. im just being frank here that it is what it is. I just don't see how that 10 mins of service condones a premium of more than 50% above online prices. maybe u were different and spent hours receiving advice from the guy. and that makes both us 2 very different shoppers.

1 month wearing everyday.

I think if your bruise is in the side, maybe your feet is too wide and you should get a E size instead of a D size. If not, it's should be already after it's season.
