I've been cutting for a while now using the ketogenic diet and I'm pleased to report that I've lost some weight!

I still have another 10kg or so to go. Should take me another 4 months.

The bad news is that I have lost a lot of strength. When I first started cutting, this was a big psychological hurdle. I was dejected to see my numbers drop weekly, but I've come to accept this as an inevitable tradeoff. I feel lighter and more energetic than before, which is great now that my two kiddoes are demanding so much of my wife and me.

The ketogenic diet really works wonders. The muscle cramps that comes with it is very painful because I didn't realise at first that I needed more electrolytes.

The worst was when my lower back became very stiff and ached so terribly that I had to see a doctor. She diagnosed it as acute lumbago and gave me a anti inflammation jab along with painkillers.
Unfortunately, the diet also triggered my sciatica. Whenever I walked my left leg was burning with agony. It got so bad at one point that I woke up in the middle of the night and ate half a loaf of bread with peanut butter just to break out of ketosis.

I kept experimenting, until I realised that 1 gram of potassium and 400 mg of magnesium, just as recommended by more experienced people, kept the problem under control.

Things are much better now. My left foot is still a little numb but the shooting pains are all but gone.

Good guess bro! I'm about 90kg now. I hope to hit 79 by the time my birthday rolls around in march. That would be a pretty awesome gift to myself :)

Now I realise a little what you had to have felt when you started to lose weight

I'm on a fat loss/ cut too. It is going slowly but slow is good(90 somewhere in June, around 83 now. I was still figuring out what works and what doesn't). Compared to last time(117kg-81kg), I was an all out weight loss with minimal emphasis on retaining muscle mass back then.

It requires much more patience and discipline as compared to before now.

we're all gonna make it brah.:s12::s12:

Been quite some time dude. Looking good. Arms and forearms are real standouts by the way.

Yeah man. Cutting without losing too much muscle mass is a real challenge. I can honestly understand why some people would opt for enhancements.

High five, internet bro!

Thanks man! The best part of this is that I can't lose! No pun intended. If I reach my target, I'm golden. If I don't, then no fish prawn also good haha.

Thanks bear! These few months were crazy with a new baby and my son clamouring for attention. I barely have time to exercise if it weren't for the noble sacrifices of my wife, an awesome woman who is finer than pearls and diamonds, whom I love beyond description, forever and ever.

I just logged in to say...

I DID TWO DRAGON FLAGS BABY!

It's nothing much I know, but for a meaty guy like me, it was close to orgasmic. Slowly work to ten reps and I'll consider it achievement unlocked.
