I've been trying dragon flags about twice a week, mainly focusing on form. It's still very hard not to bend at the waist. This is all I can do so far.

No aunties mirin this time.

I had one heck of a cheat meal last night, feasting on all types of carbs with a wanton disregard for calories. Ice cream, pasta, rice, dessert, pizza, sushi, etc. Halfway through the buffet I had an agonising tummy ache and went to the restroom. Unrepentant, I continued all the way to closing time. The whole night was spent tossing about uncomfortably because of severe flatulence.

This morning I blazed through my exercises. I felt like a brand new battery: quick to recharge and possessing far more energy than before. Plus I look better! I couldn't resist taking a vain shot to show you guys.

Carbing up once in a while works!

I've began eating carbs again, following carb backloading protocols. Thanks bro jokerk for your diet log!

The rules are simple:

1) keto style during the day
2) have carbs before sleep if working out the next morning. If not then no carbs.

I usually eat a few slices of cake or 5 to 8 donuts or a small bunch of tasty over ripe bananas if I'm feeling particularly health-conscious.

Then I'll go to bed feeling terribly guilty and bloated, and wake up feeling lean and mean.

I've also regained most of my strength. Shiok shiok. I love watching my numbers go up.

Hi everyone! It's been awhile. I'm still working out regularly and feeling strong. I've left Dennis gym for a few months, having moved to energyone at toa payoh.

Frankly speaking, things are so much better at the new place. There're more equipment, bigger weights, bigger guys for me to secretly compare myself to (no h-homo), free towels, and there is a nice water cooler. Costs around $40 a month, which is very reasonable.

Last week I went phuket for a friend's wedding. As freaking unbelievable as it seems, I gained a total of 5 kg in 7 days. How the heck is that even possible? But my round face and tight pants tell the unpleasant truth. I need to go on a dedicated cut again.

My plan is quite simple. Just keep to 2100 calories each day, while following the carb backloading protocol, for six months. Theoretically that should bring me down from 96 kg to about 84kg at the end. I'm pretty sure I can't do it by myself. I have to continue logging my food intake and workouts here.

So reddit's neverending battle with the bulge begins once more:(

Workouts are still relatively basic as I'm following a modified gvt.

First workout after a 7 day phuket carb binge fest, and the last workout of the strength phase.

db press 56kg 60 reps over 10 sets
Chest supported t bar rows 70kg 58 reps over 10 sets

The legends doth speaketh of a pair of 60kg dbs, but no one, not even the staff, knew where they went. So I'm stuck with the 56s for the past 3 weeks of the strength phase.

Pull ups 6 reps X 3 sets
Tricep ext whole thing + 10kg plate 6 reps X 3 sets

Next Monday I'll be back to good ol 10 X 10. Plus a food log coz I'm ashamed of myself.

Holy ****, 56kg db presses. 2100cals seem too little for you big man. I'm nowhere in terms of strength and weight and i would just starve to death on 2100.

The past few weeks were kinda sucky. I fell ill and took a couple of weeks to really get back on my feet. Recovery truly slows down as we age. I find myself respecting the old birds in the gym even more with time.

The whole of last week was spent doing simple low weight high reps stuff just to get back in the game.

First real workout today. After reading through lyle Mcdonald's site, I've decided to keep to the strength phase throughout my cut in order to preserve as much muscle as I can.

Db press 56kg 61 reps over 10 sets
T bar chest supported rows 70kg 60 reps over 10 sets

Hammer curls 38kg 18 reps over 3 sets
Close grip bench with 5s pause 100kg 15 reps over 3 sets

No loss in strength so far. Yay!

I'll update my food intake before I sleep.

Sorry bro! I didn't see your reply as I haven't updated for a few weeks. I'll try to keep it at 2100 for a while and see how it turns out. If I lose too much strength I'm definitely going to eat more like you said. Just experiment a bit and see how

Yesterday's morning workout

Chest supported shrugs 4.5 plates 100 reps
I use the t bar row machine with chest support for this. Can't do shrugs because of my weak lower back

Leg lifts 6kg db 100 reps

Night workout
Bulgaria splits 22.5kg db 100 reps.
I just do this exercise in my living room while I watch TV.

I'm still unused to counting calories. Only remember to weight my food only after I finish it. By then it's too late liao.

Weight this morning is 94kg
