holey moley...im exhausted. still have a lot of work to complete :(

i weighed myself this morning. unfortunately im still 107.2kg. need to try much harder this week!

im off to a bad start though. the past weekend was tiring and i had insufficient sleep. consequently this morning's workout was very lethargic and disappointing.

incline bench
warm up
40kg 10 reps X 2 sets
80kg 8 reps X 1 set
120kg 6 reps X 1 set (last rep assisted)

close grip bench
warmup
40kg 10 reps X 1 set
80kg 8 reps X 2 sets

then i gave up and went on to leg lifts

6 reps X 6 sets. very pitiful

After which, i left gym as i was just too tired. cycled to the pool and swam 5 rounds before making my way home.

diet was salmon and veggies, followed by veggie and fruit juice just now. i also ate some raw nuts.

all i want to do right now is to go home and sleeeeeeeep....

edit
man, i just read through my post and realise i sound whiny. what the heck. TOMORROW IM GOING TO TRAIN EXTRA HARD TO MAKE UP FOR THIS CRAPPY WORKOUT!

Hohoho! Good workout today.

I managed to blast the heck out of my biceps, and then proceeded with 5 sets of heavy leg extensions. Very nice. Ended with back extensions.

Tomorrow I'm going to Dennis gym at geylang east to work on my shoulders, just to try it out.

Hohoho! Good workout today.

I workout for the first time at dennis gym. It's a nice place. I stepped in, paid my $5, and realised that except for the instructor, the entire place was empty! All the equipment are belong to me! Like a little girl, I skipped around the room and high fived every machine until the instructor forced me to settle down.

First thing I did was ohp. Worked my way up to 50kg 6 reps. Next up was dumb bell shoulder presses! As I haven't done them for awhile, I slowly worked up to 35kg 12 reps. I think I could have squeezed out another 3 for a nice 15 rep, but I wasn't sure of myself. My ohp truly sucks. I struggle with a lousy 50kg bar while I breezed through 70kg worth of dumb bells.

Next was the cable machine! I honestly think I've never used one in Singapore before. Did face pulls like some bros recommended, and then lateral raises (very xiong). Gave the machine a bro hug and went on to leg raises 6 sets of 6.

By then it was getting crowded: one lady had come in and she was hogging the treadmill. I talked a bit with the instructor, a huge guy named Marcus. Turned out we both came from seletar camp. Finally it was time to leave. I gave the gym one last loving glance, bro fist Marcus, ignored that one lady and left like a boss.

As much as I liked the place, I don't think I will get a membership. It's $480 for one year, and I'm used to $80 for one year. Now that I have a little kid, I need to start saving more. Plus, although the equipment is quite comprehensive, there isn't any benches, which means the power rack has to pull triple duty. Also, the dumb bells only go up to 40kg. If there are 60 maybe 70kg ones then I will be sorely tempted.

So for now, it's back to clubfit...

Haha I didn't take leh. I actually walked in with my sleeves rolled up to show off my 10 inch pythons, but there were no laaaaydees to admire them. Later when the buibui auntie came in I quickly rolled down my sleeves again coz she looked like my mom.

No exercise today:( my baby is slightly feverish for a few days, so my wife and I went to a clinic nearby.

I have to stop being such a wimpy dad.

No u r not a wimpy dad.

Our children's welfare always come 1st. I recalled when my daughter was born (she's 21 now), I trained only at home in my home gym & many times late at nite when my wife & daughtet were sleeping.

It's a really nice place. You're right- it is small and cosy. I think it's one of those gyms where eventually you'll know everyone inside.

Good workout just now.

I surprised myself with the strength I had. Sounds very haolian hehe. I finished my close grip bench, tricep extension, dips, and finally I managed to squeeze out 40kg 15 reps standing tricep extension. It wasn't very hard. I wonder what I did differently. Usually I can barely scratch my butt after. Now that I am slacking in my couch, I realise I should have gone right ahead and do another 2 maybe 3 sets.

After that was 6 sets of leg lifts, followed my hamstring work.

All in all a good workout.

This thread is relevant to my interests. Been going to the gym for about 2 weeks now, twice a week only. But I've been keeping under my maint. calories for 8 weeks now? 6 kilos lost... Abit slow but progress is progress I guess.

Alright...I'm slacking at work to post an update now.

Today's workout is mediocre.

Same old chest exercises. Nothing much to report except that my incline bench is weaker. Still 120, but uncomfortable and needed assistance from the 3rd to 6th rep. I had plenty of sleep last night, so I'm not sure why. Close grip bench, dips and pull overs are all the same.

Also I have decided to swim at tpy pool instead of kallang even though it's more crowded, because I'm really spending too much time exercising. It takes me 2 hrs now instead of 2.5 hrs. More time to play with my kid!

I weighed myself this morning. 107.8kg. I'm not losing anymore weight la. Seems like it's almost impossible to hit my 1st June target now. Nevertheless, I'm still going to try my best. If it doesn't work, change. I tried to stick to a simple version of hiit just now in the pool. One sprint followed by a one slow relaxed lap. I dont know if it will work, but no harm trying.

Okok workout today.

Did bicep and leg work. As I was curling this morning, I began to seriously consider getting a membership at Dennis gym or some other gym. I know the cost is a big factor for us right now, so I have to discuss it with my wife. The dumb bells at clubfit are really insufficient. I'm lifting more reps but I seem to have stop growing. More importantly, I no longer look forward to certain days because there's not much I can do to challenge myself. I love that adrenaline pump when I look at the weights in fear. I havent benched 120 in years, so a few weeks back when I saw the six big plates I was incredibly motivated. I'm going to ask around and see if there's a better deal than $40 a month. Can anyone recommend something?

I realised it's already the 3rd of April and I haven't post an updated pic yet. Later tonight I will take a pic after showering.

I measured myself this morning when I woke up. I'm going to do that one the first of every month too.

Chest 45in
Tummy 41in daaaaaaaaaamn:(
Thighs (above knees) 20in
Thighs (middle) 26in (edited: I forgot to flex)
Arms 18in

Looking at the figures I must admit that my lower body is much too small. Almost comically small. The details will be ironed out later in the week, but I'm determined to dedicate one day to leg work.

$40 a month is an exceptional deal for a well equipped gym, especially if there's no contract. Even SWF is slightly more expensive. You're not going to get cheaper than that in Singapore, unless it's at some godforsaken place where rent is free.

So $40 is about as low as it can get. Thanks galapogos! Dennis gym seems to be a good choice. It's close to my house, close to a swimming pool, has relatively heavy weights, not crowded and has the cheapest rates after clubfit. My membership expires in May, so perhaps I'll sign a one year contract with Dennis.
