Xiaomi Redmi 8 allegedly passes through TENAA

Now, a new Redmi device has been spotted on TENAA, which we speculate is likely to be the next device in the Redmi lineup, the Redmi 8.

specs:

The Redmi M1908C3IC device comes with dimensions 156.3 mm × 75.4 mm × 9.4 mm, and a weight of 190g. This device also has a 6.22″ TFT LCD with HD+ resolution (1520 x 720). Device images show that the phone has the waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera and the Redmi branding on the chin. The back of the phone houses the dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12MP main sensor, and a fingerprint scanner below it. There’s some more branding visible on the rear. The listing also mentions that the phone has a headphone jack, along with a 5,000 mAh battery.

On the inside, this phone will have a 2GHz octa-core SoC, with three RAM options of 2GB, 3GB and 4GB, and three memory options of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. There will also be a microSD card slot for expansion up to 512GB. This Redmi device will also launch with Android 9 Pie.

I think the real game changer for me against other makers are the IR blaster and built-in FM radio antenna. No other brands are able to offer them yet.
Would be ideal if users are given the option to install either MiUI or stock Android out of the box.

Bro, confirmed it's running the SD439 SOC.
But SD439 is 12nm whereas SD632 is 14nm. Quite disappointing. But maybe its pricing would be a great consolation for many.

Should be non-AMOLED .... IPS display with Corning gorilla glass 5.
I think with the SD439 SOC, at least must be paired with 4GB RAM & 32GB storage, preferably 64GB for storage.

Looks like no one is interested in this costly budget phone. Better to go for the Realme 3 instead. With 13 MP front camera, 13MP main camera with f/1.8 & two years local warranty support.
The Redmi 8 also supports lesser 4G mobile network bands. Much less yo.

I think so. The Chinese Yuan is quite cheap these days. No good reason for this sort of price point. One year warranty only some more.
