I did not know it was being released.

Anyway, the K60 Ultra is around $500 while the K70 Pro is around $800 for similar specs.

Since it is cheaper, I can upgrade to the next phone faster after 2 years :)
I see, I am planning to buy K70 Pro, when you were using K60, were you facing any constraint ? E.g send for warranty difficult? Don't have the required band?

For just over $500, I am not expecting any warranty. Xiaomi's phones are very robust based on my earlier phones and I have not sent any Xiaomi phones for repair.

For the K60 Ultra, I have not encountered any major issues yet except the slow WhatsApp contacts loading, which can be mostly remedied using the simple activation of the Google contacts pre-loading option.

For the current price of K70 Pro at close to $800, I would top up around $200 for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra (I got for around $1,025). It is a flagship phone with good cameras. The Xiaomi 14 Pro would also be a good alternative.

Redmi K70 Pro:

  1. The rear camera has a 2x optical zoom.
  2. It has a better performance in AnTuTu Benchmark (2074K versus 1538K).
  3. It's compatible with the latest Wi-Fi 7 wireless networks.
  4. It runs on a more recent OS version: Android 14.
  5. It has slow-motion recording at 1920FPS.
  6. It has a higher pixel density (526 vs 446 PPI).
  7. It's faster in single-core GeekBench 6 test: 2196 versus 1902 points for the K60 Ultra.
  8. It's priced closer to $800, which is higher compared to the K60 Ultra.
  9. The display is upgraded to 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, which can reduce screen flicker and make the display more comfortable to look at.
  10. It supports True Colour Display and 16000 levels of automatic brightness adjustment, providing a more vibrant and adaptable display.
  11. It has a Rhythmic Eye Protection Mode which reduces the damage of blue light. This feature is designed to protect your eyes from strain, particularly during prolonged use.
Redmi K60 Ultra:

  1. It has a higher display refresh rate – 144 Hz.
  2. It runs on Android 13, MIUI 14 with a Mediatek MT6985 Dimensity 9200+ chipset.
  3. It has an OLED display with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.
  4. It has several memory options up to 1TB with 24GB RAM.
  5. It has a triple camera setup with a 50 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro camera.
  6. It was released earlier on August 15, 2023.
  7. It's priced just over $500 and you have had a positive experience with it so far, with no major issues encountered.
  8. The display has a refresh rate that can go up to 2880 Hz, but this is only triggered when the brightness level is at around 63% (+- 2) and below. This feature can provide a smoother visual experience, particularly when viewing fast-moving content.

Someone encountered handphone issues with shipment from TaoBao. If you are not familiar, I suggest not to try for costly items.

If u wanna ship from taobao urself, u need to find a forwarder to ship for u. Usually is abt 20sgd shipping fee exclude insurance. If u wanna buy insurance, i think it will cost few % of the product cost. So if the total cost is not very huge compare to shopee, u get from shopee better. At least u wont lost ur phone during the journey.

Electronics stuff like hp is just heng suay, manufacturing qc issue. You don't have doesn't mean qc is good, similar goes to premiums like Samsung and apple that's why they offer extended warranties or two years for premium range. No warranty then just hope can last at least two years no issue, luck plays a part also. But it's considered cheap so spoil after 2 years also not so heartpain.

Lines indicate the screen connector has become loose.

Shops with specialised equipment can solder it back properly.

But I have not encountered it in Singapore.

Green lines only affect OLED, AMOLED screens. I also never encounter any issues on LCD screens so far. Hence why I bought a replacement Redmi HP with IPS LCD, so no need to worry about any green lines for the foreseeable future.

I didn't update the software or drop the phone fyi.

Got at least another dude kenna too for his K50U after I googled for HWZ link. See post #149.
