Hello, I bought my Note 10 Pro in Oct 2022. Since then there's always an overheating message when I use it for video calls for more than 20 min... my wife's Note20 Ultra can be used for the same video calls for hours... we use mostly WhatsApp or Messenger...

Anyone knows how to overcome this issue? Is it a setting issue?

try using without the phone case, to see if it makes a difference

besides that, not much else to try, except perhaps making the call in a aircon environment?

no idea too, but maybe one thing u want to try is to reset the phone... but that means all data lost and u got to re-setup your phone all over again.

how is the battery life during idle, and if it's warm even when idle?

Apparently not... just seems like when the GPU is engaged... I mean does the GPU engage during video calls? It's quite a weird situation... not sure if there was some setting that can be done to reduce the throttling... didn't remember reading about the Note 10 Pro throttling leh...

Reset is kind of last resort... too many things to set... takes too much time actually...heh...

Is this a known issue? Unfortunately aircon environment not a possible use case given that the phone is used outdoors mainly... very weird... yeah will try without phone case and see how... didn't think it would actually affect the CPU temperature...

opening difficult part is black paste around the camera block , quite deep inside hard to reach with a plastic sheet to 'saw' it out
only battery plug and fingerprint sensor plug

test bootup first
the hardest part is what you going to glue it back together since the black gum removed

Xiaomi service center told me that they dont have any replacement part for this old model. (Redmi Note 10 Pro)

So I decided to DIY and ordered a battery from Ali, but no news after waiting two months. (money refunded)

No choice, I took my phone to the repair shop and received a quote of $38 for the battery replacement.

Seeing that they have to do diagnose test (check buttons, screen, microphone, camera and etc), and I can't watch the whole repair process (They had a repair room at the back and took 1~2 hours to repair)

I decided to format my phone, even though I don't have any sensitive photos or videos, I find it annoying to have to delete contacts and log out of banking apps, emails, Singpass, and other apps.
If only Xiaomi have "Maintenance mode"..

Phone is working perfectly now as my secondary phone, just that it gets quite warm when playing games..
