Hey guys

I am trying to flash Global ROM into my Redmi Note 7 China set. It's current operating on China ROM.

I've gotten Xiaomi permission to unlock the bootloader however I'm stuck. I'm not able to get my PC to detect the phone when it's in fastboot.

When I hold the vol down and power button, the phone will go into fastboot mode. Thereafter my PC will detect the phone (with the connected sound from windows). However 5 seconds later, I will hear a disconnected sound.

So when I launch Mi Unlock app and with the phone in fastboot mode - the Mi Unlock app doesn't detect the phone.

I've tried to troubleshoot the problem
1. Change the original usb c cable to Samsung cable - doesn't work (same prob)
2. I thought and still think that there's a driver issue. I googled for new ADB driver and installed a few. It doesn't work...

When I open PowerShell in the ADB folder as admin - if the phone is operating normally the phone can be detected. Basically the command -adb devices work. When I key in the command -adb devices, my device is listed. When I key in -adb reboot bootloader. The phone will reboot into Fastboot mode. After that I keyed in -Fastboot devices, the device will either be reflected as ????????? or it will show no device.

So... basically my pc doesn't detect the phone in fastboot mode - what can I do? I really need help.

$232 for note 7 4gb/64. Global version. Less $30 qoo10 coupon, $202.

I very tempted but the 12 month local warranty looks dodgy since this stock from China.

How can there be local warranty when stock from China?
But cheapskate me $30 cheaper than local seller I spend all night looking at it.

You have amex card? If have, buy from lazada better. Qoo price is usually inflated.

have you tried other usb c cables? are you using a usb 2.0 port, not a usb 3.0 port (some xiaomi tools are notorious for not working on usb3)? also regarding drivers, I think u have to find those on the mi community forums, apparently have to disable driver signature enforcement in windows or sth (which I remember doing to my own pc long time ago).

No need fast hand fast leg for amex. The coupon is available as of now. I just try it
From this seller, you can get it for 248 after 30 coupon. I guess not many amex user.
What is the cheapest price you can get for export price? At least buy from singapore seller with global rom. Don't buy with china rom.

I'm almost going to get this phone, just want to know: Quick charger 3.0 or 4.0? Which is better and won't cause overheat?

I don't see QC 4 much on lazada/shopee/Q10 though.

quick charge 4 is a better investment since it's faster (27w vs 18w for qc3) and by right should be cooler too. also qc4 is usb-pd compliant so u can buy any usb-pd brick to charge at qc4 speed, and can also use to charge other things like laptops if got support and enough wattage.

realme 3 not a good buy. no usb c, 720p screen vs 1080p on rn7, no dual channel wifi and worse soc overall. realme 3 pro still no usb c and more expensive. both also no bootloader unlock, so that's a no from me, compared the number of 3rd party roms just released for rn7.

I received my set, i chk on Xiaomi website for the IMEI, the Delivery Address is Indonesia. anyone knows whether my set has 18 months warranty with Singapore Xiaomi Service Centre? The seller sold it in Qoo10 as local set with 18 months warranty. Do I need to go down to Xiaomi Service Centre at Clark Quay to confirm? Do I need to bring along the phone or just the IMEI information will do? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice! :) I'll be sure to look carefully.

Btw, for those waiting for RMN7 pro to appear in Singapore, i don't know how valid this news is but I doubt it'll be sold here.

Which seller you buy from?
From the previous discussion, malaysian set probably will be recognized by sg service center.
You can bring to the service center if really curious.

Btw, don't bother to send email to xm service center to check the warranty. They will answer it as don't know.

Qc 4.0 charger still very expensive sia. Even qc 3.0 will cost around 15-20$ (brand like ugreen, rav, anker even more exp.). Don't dare to buy chapalang charger.
