typical youtuber la. dis guy is new. many such guys will generate a false sense of excitement and tend to overhype the stuff they reviewed. dis guy is no different. you will notice everything he said about every single damn phone came across his hands is how good it is.

wat appealed to me most is the hyped up videos showing how durable the front and back is. if the claim is indeed true, then the days of using a phone naked without case is near.

mi-8 got sexy backside with dual color tone? mi-8 got durable front and back can use to crack walnuts during those awkward moments of silence you'll need to break the ice with a newfound MM?

but i do agree the lack of 128gb option is a big bummer.

Saw this pricing too on Qoo10 last week. Thought of using the $10liveup coupon + $20off from mastercard promo to get this at $187 as a backup phone, but then I got pulled away by other priorities before I managed to place the order. The next day went back to the cart only to realize sellers suddenly raised price to $300 over the weekend. I think the current price has come down abit today to $234. Sian...not much incentive to rush to buy now. And also the mastercard promo no longer works. Might as well wait and see what the pro version price is gonna be after CNY.

Xiaomi alone launch so many phones a year, no need to rush. Who knows some phone makers might decide to give Xiaomi a challenge?

Actually a good strategy is to let Redmi to capitalise on low and mid range and make redmi as main driver rather than secondary phone (by having full services eg nfc) at mid range.

Then let xiaomi brand to fight the middle upper and premium range

By not including nfc in western and south East Asia and India market, alot of ppl even if they like redmi not able to use it as their main driver

Nowadays India seems to be the first country outside China to get Xiaomi new releases ya. Btw, when it reaches India, does that mean global rom is also ready???
