Anybody realize the redmi note 8 pro seems to suck battery life after updating to MIUI 12?

Even simple facebook, web surfing and instagram will consume much more battery and the phone will feel warm.

Anyone the Whatsapps keep going into sleep/quit mode, then end up no real-time alert? I already configured all notifications, no battery optimisation, but still it will go sleep...

My dad's Note 8 on occasion lags till it is unresponsive, had no choice but to do a factory reset, not sure how long it will start to be unresponsive again. Plus updates for this model seem to have come to a halt, even the cheaper Redmi 8 has Android 10 now (albeit still MIUI 11).

Recently I cant receive certain calls from certain companies / govt agencies / M1 using my xiaomi note 8 pro (MIUI 12) and TPG sim. This issue is prevalent when TPG just started last year but has gradually becomes better over time. Wondering what is causing the problems?

guys got my note 8 in th 9/9 deal at shopee. 2nd day using it . today un plug after charging from it original charger & cable.

the phone screen turn hare wire .. keep on flash with torch light on, with the manuel screen up & down with the screen btn on& off.

i had to hard power off by the side power btn then wai for a min on back the issue reslove.

Is it cable or the charger faulty? anyone encounter similar issue before?

still now not yet charger didnt see this issue surfacing .......

No fix yet. Phone is laying down in the drawer for months now.

Actually to me it’s normal as the miui is generally initially with high refresh rate and powerful soc in mind

So when MIUI 12 Trickle down to mid range and entry level optimisation ie tuning will not be spending so much time on them as compared to the flagships

Esp when the current MIUI 12 is animation heavy will have a perception as not so snappy (but if you have like mi10 you will see it been smooth) maybe you can try to switch your animation to none? And see if you are ok with it and the snappiness
