mediateks used to be more power hungry for less performance like the x20. now they have upped their efficiency game with the p60/70 and now the g90t, which is good to see.

Mtk now use some games to test its effiency in term of speed ,power and heating iirc

Thats why recent batch of chip is good.

Note 8 pro is my first mtk chip hp,overall quite impressive

yeah screen becomes like "out of focus" when u cover the front camera, dunno why

for screen color change, default is auto contrast, you could try to set to standard to see if it helps
Anyone cover front camera and palm tilt down, screen will slowly foggy?

I noticed sometimes under sunlight, screen colour will change also

But i didnt set any auto display one leh

Wah, the 8GB + 128GB is going for almost SGD$400. When will it be available in Singapore?

Comparing this to Mi9T Pro, with 6.39" screen size and 4,000mAh battery but with SD855 at $550.

Still thinking which one to get.

Hi bro,

Though I agree with you the local xiaomi mark up too much , but it’s not the same
By having a China set and flash to global rom, please kindly see the previous post on issue with unlocked boot loader (even with magisk)

At the same time even though phone should not spoil so easily , but there are lemon set eg. My Mi9T which lead to data lost (esp when it was my work phone) and i has to go to funan to place my phone there for 3 days and they had to change Mobo and battery.

Hence local set does have the advantage of warranty , if they happen on a k20 then you basically suck banana liao

as a spare phone, it's totally fine. this phone (non-pro) doesn't have NFC to use for payment as well.. and regardless if the bootloader is locked or not, its not listed under the list of device that my employer accepts to download and use workspace for enterprise apps.

Please only root the phone if you understand the risks involved in having a rooted phone!

The xiaomi staff at ksl outlet is using the 6/128gb Malaysia model himself.

He shared with me that currently the nfc only works for alipay and wechat pay for now, have to wait for update then can use google pay etc.
