Maybe I shouldn't have itchy-fingered the And12+MIUI13 update on my Pro...

Now it seems to be draining the battery more even on idle/sleep. (On A11+MIUI 12 - 1-2%/12hr, now it's dropping that amt in 2-3hrs)

I may have to take back my previous comment on the battery life post-update. Now it seems to be back to pre-update rate. Maybe it was doing some optimisations after the update. Still monitoring.

When did you update it? Cos normally takes 1 week to settle.

Sigh, i tick the box to have priority to receive the update first then still nothing.

A day before I made the first comment. Now battery life seems to have gone back to usual.

I downloaded my update package from that site with links to all Xiaomi phone firmware etc, then install through the Updater app. Because I didn't get any update on the app itself too.

Before i installed, i switched it back to Singapore then the update gone haha. Switched it to Malaysia and its available again. I think Singapore one got a bit of problem. Normally i'm on this telegram group, the moment i see the group says the update is available, true enough i go to my phone it's there but this Redmi Note 9S one month also not in.

I wish we'll have Android 13 cos they say it fixes a lot of the issues of Android 12 but i guess i can't hope since it's a mid-range device, even my Poco F2 Pro won't get it. Luckily my Mi Pad 5 still can so can see how good it is, especially since it's also catered to tablet and foldable.

Most likely won't la. They want you to move on to their new Redmi Note 1x. Most of them only support up to 3 years, means RN9 series will get a couple more security updates and that'd be it.

But given how popular this series is, there's plenty of custom ROMs out there to try in the future once patches stop coming. By then would be Android 14/15. My old RN3 Pro stopped officially with Android 6. Then I jumped to Android 9 in 2019 with a custom ROM after 3 yrs ownership. I think I would've continued using it today updated to A11 if I didn't jump to the RN9P a year later. Occasionally, there are absolute gems in their lineup.

Try press Volume Up + Power button. Release Power button when there's long vibration.

Then there should be a menu to boot in Safe Mode. Try this.
