I agree with what you just shared. I tried coating the SP with cheap ceramic coating from lazada.

Works quite well. Not sure how long the coat will last. So being an OCD, I usually change my Glass every 6 months. So i buy the cheapest generic i can find. . . ways of a cheapo . . . lol

Though I am cheapskate I have never tried apply SP myself. I will let the mobile shop to help me with that. I do thought of regularly replacing the SP but the amount of time and labor cost associated with the replacement deters me.

Yes. The Dimensions are the same. The items i gotten are all universal for 9S and 9Pro.

Word of advise when getting Tempered Glass.

Do go for the type with edge printing as they cover a bigger area and no white edges.

Tempered glass that are 100% clear are made smaller due to the formation of white edges. White Edges are non-sticking contact surface due to curve edge glass of phone screen and tempered glass adhesive.

I highly doubt Pro will have longer software support, Redmi devices generally don't have good software track record, my guess is Note 9S and Note 9 Pro will be on par when it comes to updates. I am getting more frequent OTA updates on my POCOPHONE F1 than on my Redmi Note 8 Pro in recent months, the Android 10 update for Note 8 Pro technically hasn't even left beta stage yet.

I just realised, RM note 9 series are specially catered just for global market & not china market. For china market, they're gonna release Redmi 10x series (with the same exterior look, not sure if it's note size) with MTK820 chip, which is reported to be better than SD845

So the 720g on note9 is like a dumping ground zzz

if 9s is $260, 9 pro is $319......i felt 9pro more worth.

MTK processor and smaller screen. Can go further go for 9s or 9pro if you need NFC.
