I know right? I look left look right look left look right, for a hint of green. Is this a request considered too high?

As a matter of fact, this "Mint Green" Pad 2 looks so much like my previous blue Xiaomi Pad 6.
Poisonous stuff we got here, much cheaper thatn XM Pad 6. :s13:

How is the initial use?
Well, it's huge. Good thing I didn't buy Pad Pro or the 12.1" would most certainly kill me 🤣 Perhaps I have grown too accustomed to my 8.8" Legion y700, thus, it feels huge going back to 11" again.
So far so good, but coming from a 8+ Gen 1 down to a Helio G100 definitely has a significant difference in terms of response and speed, like those split second lag after tapping. Also, the default color temperature setting looks a bit warm to me, thus, I tuned it to Cool instead.

That's the reason I go for Pad Pro instead as I feel the G100 Ultra in Pad 2 will be lag...

For me, I am perfectly okay with it as it doesn't cause me any inconvenience, I will be used to it in no time, hee. As Pad 2 lacks both Dolby Vision and HDR10, the display does look slightly dimmer and not as rich and punchy as my Xiaomi Pad 6 and Legion y700. So again, another thing to get used to 😁

Another shot this time under bedroom white light, behold Redmi Pad 2's "Mint GREEN" 😅

Maybe chiu should have waited for the physical shops to start having display/demo sets for this model before chiu bought it online den perhaps u would have a better look at the actual colour/s of the pad...

Well, my previous Redmi Pad and Xiaomi Pad 6 were both faithful to their colors. Hence, didn't expect Redmi to gaslight me this time with Pad 2. Nonetheless, I don't mind the lovely light metallic blue shade 🙂

Ic... when we order phones/tablets online that are not brought into SG locally... always have the problem of not being able to see the actual sets in the shops so sometimes when we finally receive the phones/tablets, the colour of the sets dun look like what we thought they would look like... seeing them online doesn't help much at all cos as u know the "colour" of the sets we see online may not accurately reflect how it really looks irl...

Correct. The Pad 2's Mint Green in their advertisement on Shopee actually looks legit green, so it's a misrepresentation. Not sure why Redmi did it, but it's not an issue to me 🙂

What we see as a certain "colour" online can appear diffrerent irl because as u know there are complications like the colour settings of the particular device that we see the pic of the phone/tablet on... and if it is a taken photo, the angle it was shot at and the lighting situation under which it was taken can affect how the "colour" really looks like...

Just curious why did you change from y700 and mipad 6 to this though? Lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 12.7 inch and legion y700 both with sd870 were the most bang for buck tablets I've used in the past. Just 200+ SGD china rom set with good specs and battery life.

Reason 1:
I change tablets/cellphones once or twice a year coz I don't wanna wait till the battery starts dying before I Carousell them. This way, I always get to enjoy optimal battery performance. My warped mentality 🫢

Reason 2:
I was using my tablets for emulation gaming for a while. I have since shifted to console and PC gaming (even so, my Aftershock 32Gb ram PC is underused), thus, using tablet only for anime streaming and light match-3 game 🙂

No wonder, so your needs are pretty basic. I thought you will stick to alldocube small sized tablets due to the weight and size lol. I can never use any tablet/phone with below ufs 3.1 storage as to me it's quite laggy and slow.

Yeah, my needs for tablet are pretty basic. Hence, Redmi Pad 2 fits the bill, and it can also do 3DS emulation nicely. I still have my Legion y700 2023 tablet with me but I should be selling it off soon 😀
