Starhub have decent coverage, speed is average .. laggy for me at times but usable

Using zym now,at times only 2 bars but still useable. Seeing that Redone 50% and 5Gb data roam,thinking give a try

I am on eight and have the same problem in receiving overseas sms.
I have escalated to IMDA too.
It's been more than a month now but no end to this issue yet.

I was at Bedok recently and found the network of RedOne extremely bad, can't even view the bill on their own app. I'm thinking of porting out this RedOne number to Eight Telco, when is the best time to do the port out, end of the month? I just have to apply from Eight website under porting in, right?

Does RedOne use Starhub infra?
If so, and since eight also uses the same infra, you might not see a big improvement in coverage/connectivity. YMMV though.
If not, then ignore what i wrote above. I am told that Singtel has the best coverage, so that may be a consideration for you

Oh ya, they are both on Starhub, then it's weird.. because I've a Eight number on another phone and that was working well.. only Redone very bad..

I used RedOne only because of the shared data for roaming in Malaysia (old plan), but Eight Telco giving something even better for just $8. Or is there any other MVNO (maybe using Singtel infra) giving good promo with roaming data?

lol while same infra is a big factor, there's a lot more factors beyond that. if eight is better for you than RedOne, then, it makes sense to hop over. if/when you port over, do let us know the results. cheers

did you compare redone / eight side by side? They are both SH network cannot differ that much

Yes, side by side, that's why I said it's weird after it was pointed that both are using starhub network. I realized the difference when my phone was so slow when downloading videos sent in WhatsApp which was unusual. Did the usual off/on flight mode and also phone, still same, so went into RedOne app and check, can't even download the last bill, prompted internet was weak, so confirmed is their network issue. Another confirmation was I even off the mobile data and used hotspot from the other phone (Eight Telco one) and everything was smooth!

3G network will cease on 1 Nov 2024. For those still using non-volte phone, you will need to get a new phone.

Is it just me or is Redone getting worse?

Before october signal is good
Now i gave up my Amazing 8 to "upgrade" to Best10 signal is worse and 4G+ become 4G

I noticed after my “upgrade” my signal is lost more frequently in Johor Bahru. A lot o f No service will happen and need to wait a couple of minutes for it to reconnect.
