rp has to be one of the most crappiest roles in army. so long dont need to serve overnight duty then it's very much like being any normal commercial security guard, except tht u have an armed rifle.

kenna posted to unit best la, after 5, handover to the unit fellas who sign extra for guard duty lor. esp in xiong units, sure bound to have tonnes of ppl who sign extra.

Quite hard to get such posting unless you are 'lucky' to pick. But have to clarify not all air force camp is 8-5.

In some camp, you still have stay over-night for duty, especially you happend to be the duty rp for the day or worse still, you are in a camp where the camp personnel are non-combatants. But don't worry, life is still better in camps than kins

Just that you have to watch your back as unlike cds or fds, your mates and you are on your own. Not oc, co, csm, ps or sect comd to protect ur ass. (Times may have changed with many mp sect comd becoming guard comm but we all know 3sgt cannot do much to protect men). Ur so-callled superiors are just regulars who just happend to be i/c of security as a secondary appointment. Pray hard that you do not get f-up superiors or else your life will not be easy. If possible, be in their good books.

For fds dog handler, sorry, once you enter ur unit and complete ur training, you will be stuck in the dog unit at least for the rest of ur ns life. The best u can hope is to be sub-lease to do duty in the air force camp often (That is where u can really slack, provided u are in good terms with the ppl there and the duty commander here close one eye) or/and when the nsmen dog handlers come in for reservists and share the burden with you.

No matter which unit you posted to, make full use of it. Instead of mulling over what you have got, why not make the best out of it? Instead of being sad, why not make everyday happy?

Good luck in K9, it's no slack unit. They do a **** load of guard duties and prowlings. No 8-5 jobs. Even being a RP is better than going to K9.

Air trooper = FDS. Search the forum for it. Not exactly a good voaction to be in.
