That's because S'pore Samsung not selling laptops.

The other issue is how are you going to get it serviced if spoil? Samsung Singapore is not providing service.

Yes, I know. I took a risk. So far so good, it's been running fine for more than a year.

May not be a bad idea, my friend did it with the Surface Book 2 years ago and everything seems fine as well.

The question is how much better is the Samsung better than LG. I know the graphics card is better but it is slightly smaller at 15 inch compared to 15.6 inch for LG. The Samsung SSD is also better.

Any opinions?

Actually, LG is also using SAMSUNG SSD. Very likely it's OEM version. You can check this out in one of the Youtube videos. Otherwise go down to LG and check out its hardware. Without touchscreen SAMSUNG is definitely better than LG but the silver/white color of the SAMSUNG will be obviously dirtied over time. Fingerprint scanner? Do you use it on your smartphone? If no, then no use lor. SAMSUNG's TB3 port can connect to the Razer Core as shown in one of the youtube videos. SAMSUNG's camera location is on the top whilst LG is at the bottom. If you don't Skype or video conference then the camera for both is no use. Want to have 512GB SSD for SAMSUNG then you'll need to pay extra.

For me touchscreen LG is better since I'm using the MS SP3/SP4 touchscreen tablets. And its dark grey color will fare better over time. Also, its weight is much much lighter than SAMSUNG

For both the battery life is about the same. Also, both can use external USB Type-C battery bank to charge the laptops.

Finally, LG has service support here but not SAMSUNG

TB3 is useful for 2 purposes

1) Playing games on external monitor through an eGPU e.g 4K games. SAMSUNG's weak 940MX GPU is useless in playing high resolution games
2) To connect to external TB3 SSD storage devices for fast transfer in local network use. External TB3 storage devices is expensive and rare to use

I don't use fingerprint scanner neither do I use video conferencing

If you ask me to choose I'll take the touchscreen LG, if it's available here, for sure. Also, have local service is very important even if warranty period is over. No part change and your set is dead.

Actually, LG is quite bad not to bring in touch screen. Furthermore, they are selling non-touch screen models for so high price.

Let's not buy until they bring in touch screen and drop the price ...

More like 4hrs for me but set at 80% max batt.

Can it be because Windows 10 is doing updating at the background? If you set the Wifi you are connected to as "metered network", see if it improves? It does for my Samsung Notebook 9 13 inch.

For 2016 LG gram 15" using 6th Gen Intel i7 processor vs 2017 LG gram 15" using 7th Gen Intel processor, is there a noticeable difference in the performance of laptop if I just want to use it for daily surf net and watching show only?

The processor alone won't help you net any perceivable performance gain.
The new one is definitely faster, more efficient, but it's only measurable in benchmarks.

Where it shines is through minor upgrades all around like increase battery life due to a much larger battery capacity, better keyboard, backlit keys, etc.

This laptop has caught my sights being very lightweight and the improved battery life of the 2017 version. However, being disappointed with what LG Singapore had brought in is an understatement to say the least.

The 13 inch model was brought in but without its 60wh battery, this means that the battery life is not gonna be as good as the 14 and 15 inch models.

The 14 inch model was brought in but without its 256gb ssd variant which means its left with its 512gb variant and that's a pretty pricy price to pay. FYI I also do not think you would require so much storage for an Ultrabook.

I'm not even gonna talk about the 15inch because I feel that only a 12-14 inch laptop is a true Ultrabook.

To top it off, both 13 and 14 inch has no touch screen and the price of both is ludicrous. The version that has caught my eye is of course the 13.3inch with 60wh battery 256gb ssd or the 14inch with 60wh battery 256gb ssd. Surprisingly both variants are not brought in.

Very disappointed with LG Singapore.

Very disappointed with LG Singapore.

Totally no touch screen option is really a waste, since the battery life is long to be able to afford touch screen. In fact, they could afford to put in 2k or 4k resolution screen.

The 15 inch doesn't even come with Core i5 option. Who needs a Core i7 power in a ultraportable.

For the 13 inch, LG wants to boast about being the lightest 13 inch, hence put in the smaller battery.

Just to check with those that bought LG Gram also, the bundled USB-C to RJ45 Adapter is fastethernet or gigabit one as mine seems to be fastethernet.
