I passed my TP today under Mr Ng (SSDC) today. (3rd attempt)
Previous 2 attempts were from school.
I almost could not take my driving test today becoz someone slammed into my PDI's car last night. Thank God the headlamps were not damaged else the vehicle will be barred from testing. (THOSE WHO WANT TO TAKE PRIVATE TAKE NOTE)
My experience with PDI and school is vastly different. The school has a system to teach and will warn you on common mistakes like safety check and pit falls around the school. You will be very comfortable in the circuit but have pretty poor road awareness.
With the PDI, my road awareness is very good because we were constantly on the road. However, they tend not to emphasize on KEEPING LEFT much (which I was penalized heavily by my tester). The real weakness with learning with PDIs is that circuit practices are limited because PDIs have to bid for slots. So it is natural that parking and narrow courses are the Achilles heels of PDI students.

Helping a friend look. He dont feel safe by us teaching. And he dont wanna risk scratches on our wheels. Refresher course ard Yishun/AMK/YCK area. His knee ligament snapped so he was out of driving for 3yrs due to injury. Wanna refresh.

2nd Recommendation to Mr Yeo,thanks to zul again
I would really like to take this time to recommend this very good private instructor Mr Yeo who has 25 years of experience and drives around Gombak.I chanced upon his contact one day while searching through this forum and saw his name being recommended by zuldevil and decided to give him a try.I swear this is the BEST decision i made in my life(okay exaggerate a bit,u get my point...).Anyway,he's the best not because I passed on the 1st attempt.It's how he treats his students with respect and his level of professionalism.
First off,he will NEVER ever sleep when you are driving(unless you book very late slots with him,he might doze off a little
).He never eats,calls friends to chat(his students might call him to book lessons,nt his fault also ;0),not over-protective of his car( like screaming at you when you brake too hard etc).
I rmb on my 2nd lesson,my engine stalled more than 4 times in a traffic jam(just learnt clutch mah=/).Instead of screaming his lungs out at how noobish i was,Mr Yeo looked very worried and asked me is something wrong with his car(lol...).After that he told me to take my time and ignore those mad cars honking behind.
Mr Yeo is also not the type that's just after your money.There's one occasion when i was supposed to have driving with him but i overslept for more than 15minutes.Instead of eating up half my money,since his company states that students who are late for more than 15mins will result in half of their money being forfeited,he called me and asked where I stay so he can fetch me(his company does not provide fetching service also).
At the end of today when i passed my driving,Mr Yeo came up with a big smile and a warm handshake.In total I spent less than 1k in getting this license,im cheap haha.
All in all,grab this Mr Yeo at 81833232 and tell him seng recommended him.I bet on my balls you wont regret it.Okay just kidding=x.

YAY! Another happy customer! I'm glad you took a chance on my word and called him up. He's good, yeah? I'm quite grateful to him, after all the bad instructors I've had. That's why I've been recommending him to anyone who asks. (I swear I don't get commission. lol.)

I've mentioned this before elsewhere, but after reading a lot of the newer forum posts, I just feel the need to say this again...
I know a lot of you who are looking for PDIs are also looking for convenience. "Anyone knows a good PDI who can fetch me at my house???" I get why you ask this question, 'cause I asked this question too, way back when. I couldn't find a PDI who would fetch from under my block, so I settled with the 2nd most convenient place, at a close-by MRT station.
And the bugger who taught me turned out to be a jack-ass who can't teach $hit and really cannot be bothered to do much. I quitted him after 4 lessons (and every time I see a student with him at that MRT station, I feel like getting out of my car and telling the student to go find a different PDI!).
So I gave a chance at other instructors... Some of which are okay, some are so-so, and some can't teach properly (all wayyyyyy better than the 1st guy though!). Then I chanced upon a good one, and boy, was I relieved! Who would've thought that finding an instructor who does his job would be so hard?! And he did his job well, too!
Doesn't matter that I had to travel about half an hour out of my way to learn from him. It all paid off.

Have had a bad experience with a PDI. I have a good on at the moment. PM me for Details. He teaches at Woodlands.(SSDC)
On another note, does anyone here know what happens if I have already booked a TP Test with one instructor(A) and used his IC number for the booking and have now changed PDI(B). Do I have to forfeit the test date and book a new one using my current PDI? Or can I just change the IC number?

looking for PDI in north east area! (sengkang) currently with cdc but cannot book lesson during school period; thus deciding to follow up we some private lessons first if possible?
also moi ish jiak kentang so a english speaking instructor is preferred =x

I would recommend Guillame (9365 2966), he teaches Auto and will pick you up from your home.
Charges is not sure for new learner though.
I took refresher course and he charge $40 an hour. Total took 4 sessions from him
