Wow, didnt expect you to wait for 2 weeks for the 1st lesson... mine 1st lesson I waited for slightly over 1 week.

Remember to bring your PDL for the first lesson. You should be receiving a reminder call from Mr Yeo on 14/02 also.

Just a tip for booking lesson: if you are comfortable with him as your PDI and wishes to continue learning from him, when you book your next lesson with him, pay him first.

If you havent make payment for the lesson, your lesson can be cancelled by those who need to take TP test and need the slots more urgently.

I took over 1-2 slots of those who book but haven't paid yet as I need to practise for my test.

My test is on this Sat, a bit stress out, man...

Btw, i spoke to him about teaching non-chinese, Mr Yeo says he's perfectly ok with it. He doesn't believe in choosing customers.

In fact, he speaks pretty good english. Its just that because I'm a chinese, so he will always switch to chinese. My first lesson with him was conducted in English.

Don't worry, Mr Yeo doesnt use vulgar lungage or make personal attacks on his students. He says it as it is, if you are not good, he will go straight to the point and say so. U learn to take his feedback and try to improve yourself.

Eg; in the circuit, your low speed control has to be very good, otherwise, you will definitely strike/ mount kerb. For my first few lessons, i couldnt do my crank course and 'S' course smoothly as my low speed control was very bad. Mr Yeo will just point it out and said that I still need to improve on it. He doesn't scold or make personal insult like 'you are stupid, blah, blah...'

Of course, when you hear his feedback, you feel your confidence going down but this is the type of instructor that I need.

When you go for TP test, the tester will not tell you anything, he will just deduct points or fail you if you cannot make it. If i have a PDI that just keep quiet and keep saying I'm good, I'm screwed when I go for test.

Learn to take the feedback in your stride and keep improving. He has quite high expectations on his student and will keep making you do it until you get it.

I have no driving experience, i went for 2-3 lessons a week. I'm a slow learner, so the only way that i have is just keep driving and practise until I get it.

Seriously, if I can pass, I dont see why ppl can fail their TP test.

It takes time to get used to the mechanics of driving a car, i took a while also. So no need to feel rushed, its a learning process that all new drivers go through.

Try to get covered shoes that have thin soles as it will be easier to feel the clutch and accelerator.

from jurong to bukit gombak is very close, but going back to punggol after lesson and work, you will be damm tired by then.

Always release the clutch slowly bah, don't release it so quickly. If you got scolded, understand what you did wrongly! However do not harp on the mistake that you did during driving, will affect your mood and confidence level.

When you had finished driving, ask yourself why did you do such mistake? why why why? with enough practice, you will show improvement.

the sequence of stop and move off at slope still need some practise. turning too need pratice. take each step at a time. it ok for me as i have my own transport to and fro. will ask question here if i in doubt.
