Thanks, to register for BTT , must i enrol as a student with the school first? You said enrol as a student and pay the fee for the lessons etc its only for the BTT course right? Is is necessary sign up for the course or i can buy and study the books myself and just go for the test? And 1 more, cause i am still saving, if i register for BTT and pass it, can i apply got the PDL first but not registering for any lessons(school or private) yet? Like i only decide to start learning few months later? Like there is no specific timeframe between passing BTT getting PDL, then going for lessons?
hmm well even before you enrol or book, you should decide whether you would like to learn as private or school student
since you are trying to save money, private is a better choice as they are much cheaper compared to learning from school.
however you can also choose to be a school student if you want to, just that it will cost you more.
Let's say you want to learn as private because it is cheaper, then go to one of the three driving school (SSDC, CDC, BBDC), choose one which is nearer to your house then go there and ask to be
enrolled as a private student
after paying the fees, which is around $20 i think, you can then start to book date for your BTT
Since you are registered as private student with the school, there will not be any theory lessons or books, so you have to get your own
My advice is that if you do not plan to take practical lessons straight away after passing your BTT, then don't apply for your PDL right after passing your BTT
because PDL got an expiry date which last 6 months(have to pay another $25 to renew if it expires), so when you feel like starting your practical, go find a private instructor and then go back to the school once again to pay $25 and get your PDL
then remember to bring your PDL for every practical lesson with your private driving instructor
another scenario is that, if you wish to enrol as a school student
same thing, go to one of the three driving school to
enrol as school student instead of private student
however enrolling as a school student cost much more, certainly more than $100 for the registration fee
because the registration fee includes the theory lessons and books, and also the school's practical lesson will cost more compared to lessons with a private driving instructor, from then on you can start to book your BTT date
