Thanks for telling me! I gave up on him too because even before starting, he NEVER replies and always bombs me with a lesson the following day (which obviously I cannot take because I'd already made plans) and he would make it seem like I'm the inflexible one. Still looking around for a good PDI :(

I tried contacting this pdi (Mr Ivan Tan) a month ago and he was terrible! Advise you not to engage him.

His attitude is very bad and very impatient. Initially, I called him to ask about his rates, timing, pick up etc and after a few questions, he reply 'why I ask so many question?'
I was really shock and angry so I replied saying that the questions I asked are very basic qns to ask by students and I ask why he suddenly become angry and frustrated ? Therefore, we ended the call and I didnt want to ask further anymore.

2nd time, I call him back again hoping that he is in a better mood and this time slightly better and told me he can pick up at Tampines coz he stay there. Then when he became a little impatient, he asked me to just sms him the dates and time I can then he will reply from there. To my dismay, he reply that he is full and not available till end of next month so will only update me when he got slot. Then he also say he cannot pick Tampines??

So why did he even ask me to sms my date and time to him ? Waste of my time seriously!! So I was very piss off by his lousy reply and follow-up so I decided to give up.

Thanks!! I wonder why different instructors have such different attitudes to students. Or maybe it's just our threshold. I wouldn't enjoy my driving experience either if I were you. So did you change an instructor in the end?

Hello peeps, wanna ask if the PDI needs to be registered at a specific driving centre?

Am staying in Woodlands so registered as a private learner @ SSDC, passed BTT & got my PDL now. However my camp is in the east, so is it compulsory to look for a PDI in Woodlands area?

Would rather have a PDI in the east so will be able to take lessons at night. This thread is informative so hope to find the answer here.

Thanks in advance!

Guys just wana share this,

I engaged my instructor via Woodlands Driving School. He is constantly trying his best to shortchange me. Somehow or rather he will find ways to start the lesson about 8-10 minutes late. Every single lesson he will need to go to the toilet and sometimes to even just get coffee. Worse part, when he's back with coffee he will 'chit chat' with me and don't give me the signal to go. More time wasted! When we do circuits, he will purposely pick the station with queue or where his friends are teaching nearby so he can get off the car to chit chat with them. When I ask him questions, he can't seem to give me the answer or he simply avoid the questions completely. From my observations, he simply doesn't have the 'heart' to teach. He will MOST DEFINITELY end the lesson 5-10 minutes earlier each time. To be honest, out of the 1.5 hours I feel I barely practice 50-55 minutes. To add salt to wound, previously I did a weekday with circuit he charged $89 but today, also a weekday circuit he charged $90!! He seem very dishonest, stealing both my time and money. I feel very dishearten, cos actually I've taken my test 10 years ago for 4 times but failed each time. I finally mustered the courage to face my failure, only to face stumbling stones such as a lousy instructor. But I don't want to give up. Can anyone please please recommend a reliable, 3A instructor at SSDC? Thanks guys!

Ps: He quoted me $445 for TP including 1.5 hours practice with circuit? Seems kinda exhorbidant?

Btw he is Mr Lim SJN 1103 M. HP: 9270 5388 from Woodlands Driving School. Avoid him like plague!

I totally second this! I had a few lessons with him and decided that it was enough. And I foolishly paid him upfront for the TP, but i managed to get it refunded. He took lots of coffee/ toilet breaks near one of the workers' dorms and there was once where it took up to 30 mins, so i called it out and he charged me for only 1hr.

Tried to change PDI with Woodlands Driving School but all their instructors can only teach in the afternoons or weekends.

I'm still looking for a reliable PDI for SSDC. Any recommendations?

Mr Ong PDI BBDC for class 3 manual. He picks up at gombak MRT.

Enroll fee - $50
1hr - 28/30
He teaches in both 1/1.5hr

93832788

Although he does scold, but I feel that he is not those PDI that is out to cheat your money or something, as he allowed me to take TP just after ~10 lessons.
Number can't be called
