i just realise finding PDI is a lot harder....I call many this morning, all fully booked.

Actually, I am staying opposite batok driving centre.
Do you all think, it's better for me, to go for school, or PDI?
since a walk to bbdc is only 5 min for me

Up to you. people go private to save money heee

the reaso you are having doubts is cos you think $400 is quite expensive, that's why you are asking around right? You can ask for breakdown, maybe got include other things.

My PDI instructor told me TP is $250. Does not include TP fee $33

For school is around $200-250 include warmup, but warmup usually less than 1 hour for school.

Not sure if there is market rate anyway for private. Private just charge what they want, you decide yourself reasonable or not.

Edit= BBDC TP is 171.20+38.52 warm up=$210. SSDC TP is 171.20+35.31warm up=$207. CDC TP is $252 wif warm up. Like that, my PDI $250 should be reasonable.
Your $400 a bit expensive now looking at school chrge.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! Too bad I can't book at driving sch just for the test haha

Mine was $393 includ. $33 tp fees hahah $250 car rental then the rest for warmup session

OIC, how long is your warmup lesson?

So you pass instructor 393-33=360? Cos my PDI say 33 is deduct from my own account balance.

U took your TP already? How was it? :D

Yep I paid $33 on my own! Idk about other PDIs but mine passed me his NRIC number and I had to book the test myself at the driving centre so I paid $33 to the driving centre directly :s12:

Yep I passed last November hahah it was okay! Just a tip if you are a private candidate: If you have other friends taking lessons from school, do ask if you can borrow the practical book that the school issues them during enrolment; the book clearly states all the checks you need to do which most PDIs do not teach. I wouldn't have passed on the first try without it because my PDI never teach :s22:

Class 3 PDI

Hi everyone, looking for a class 3 PDI around ubi, anyone has any recommendations? Most of the CDC PDI being recommended seems to be auto PDI. I just started my job so will prob only be able to take lessons in the evenings...

Was a student at CDC many years ago during uni days, flunked my practical 3 times and never went back. Hoping to get my license this year. Thanks everyone!

Hey for those out there looking for pdi, perhaps you could note not to make the same mistake as I did lol... ask about all the fees before signing up! I guess I'm stuck now with 400+ for driving test, which is not even incl warm-up and the $33 test fee. That's a lot above market rates whichever you compare to haha :p

Anyone can recommend a good PDI for auto, either BBDC or CDC?

Seems like many of problems finding good private instructors and the websites are all rather misleading. Some claim no hidden fees, end up asking for registration fee and change fee if the driver is not good. This makes me suspicious

Just to share my experience:
Drivinginstructor SG does this. Came across a bad review online as well - so not sure whether trustworthy.

Le Driving Instructors and Passfast both seem to be run by the same guy. Both have registration fee even though the websites say don't have. Also came across some bad reviews for Le Driving.

Would be good to hear others experience as well since searching online, reviews of these sites are quite limited.

Hi can I know if taking a total of 40hrs of lessons before taking TP test is it considered normal?

ur question is "how many driving lessons you took b4 tp test" i told u mine lor 7 lesson lor did i answer wrongly?

some ppl like ZhuTou take 7, some take more, 10+ to 100+, really depend.

Private good thing is dont have minimum la. It really depend on the PDI, they ok, then can alrd.

More lesson or less lesson, pass can alrd, own time own target HEE

Hello all, It has been a year back since I last took my TP test. I took all my lessons from Cathay Driving Centre in Bedok and i highly recommend it. Registration fee is $60, the rate is $54 for 1.5 hr regardless peak or non peak. I got assigned to Mr Ang Yim Ching (teaches auto). He is a very patient and passionate instructor who will explain the driving concepts to you and reasons why you do certain things. He will not waste your time during lessons, although he is strict, all his reminders are very beneficial and for your own good so that you will not make the same mistake again. He is also very encouraging and will do his best to teach you. I highly recommend that if you are learning 3A to pick him as your instructor. The lady in charge of scheduling your lessons is also very friendly and can accommodate your schedule as long as you book in advance. Any queries can PM me, im willing to share more

For UBI only

I am very happy and proud to say that my driving instructor, Ivan Tan have been outstanding in his performance with a good personality to match! He is professional, committed, polite, joyful, organised and humorous! There is never a dull training day with him! He can talk to you about anything while maintaining a professional outlook on your driving performance.

His tips on the road and circuit is very useful! He plans his lessons well and balances the time training on the road and inside the circuit to have enough time to be confident in both areas.

He is also very patient with his students - he will not yell nor shout at you. I am very pleased to work with him and I got my license with his accurate guidance and encouragement to never give up! His car has always been kept in tip-top conditions by going to car servicing regularly so that those maneuvers in circuit seem effortless. I strongly recommend him to be your next private driving instructor!
