this one is upto individual instructor one
some charge more some charge less, but as for private instructor they usually charge the rental higher than driving school
but $200 really a lot leh, i paid $128 under driving school

When I first called Mr Soh of the very high passing rate, thought he would be the one teaching but when i went for my first lesson, it was Lye. Lye was ok, his english was more or less fluent. When I checked with him if he or Soh would be my instuctor, he turned vague and asked me to check with his boss (Soh).

Second lesson onwards, my instructor was Siou. I felt like killing him for the first few weeks cos he was just so annoying, crude and not encouraging in the slightest. After that, i got into the habit of ignoring his less helpful comments. However, he got slacker as my driving got better. e.g. even after I had arrived and got into the car, he would continue chatting with the other instructors, thus shortening my lesson time. He would also "rest his eyes" while we were on the road, and when he woke up and realised I had driven past the red light/turned into the wrong lane, he would yell at me.

I can more or less close one eye to the incidents above...

I've booked my next lesson though, and I'll see how things go.

Erm, after all the crap, you still booked another lesson? The beauty of learning from private driving instructors, is that you can just fire them if they are unsatisfactory. Why keep giving money to people who are not bringing value to your life, and who keep pissing you off?

I just passed my BTT going to apply for my PDL end of this mth.

I'm looking for a PDI with the following criteria :)
- patient
- don't scold with loud voice
- flexible timing
- ofc, not too expensive. around $35-45/90mins
- if i slow he will slow with me, if i fast he'll chiong with me. (idk if I'll be a fast or slow learner :s11:)

Very hard esp flexible timing
Good pdi usually schedule very pack
If u need timing like peak hour, u have to book many days in advanced
Maybe like 1-2 weeks

I just called up 2 instructors. They both teach near Ubi area.
Both of the, asked me to book my PDL & FTT together.

1) Frankie 90090901
He asked me to book both together and since PDL is valid for 6mths, he said its sufficient to learn during this period as he'll arrange the schedule for me. Once I pass my FTT, shouldn't be a prob to book for TP alrdy.
$28/hr - provide pickup at my place at ChaiChee

2) CHIANG FUI LONG 96919083 *Passing rate for 1st timer 25.00%
He only ask me to book together and tell me his rates only.
$40/90mins

Both have examples of first time pass attempt.
Any suggestion who should I pick?
