Am i consider a member of CDC?

Hi,

If you're taking your theory test and practical test at CDC Ubi:
  1. Head down to the test centre with your NRIC and a debit card. They only accept NETS payment there
  2. Go to counter 9 and open an account for private testee (Cost: $10.70)
  3. Proceed to book your BTT. You can either book it over the internet yourself or ask the person over at the counter to help you book. (Cost: $6)
  4. This is optional, but you can book for e-trial test. Each e-trial will allow you to try out 2 sets of questions. (cost:$10)
  5. After you've passed your BTT, proceed to book your FTT. (Cost: $6)
  6. Again, this is optional. You can book for e-trial test. (Cost: $10)
  7. It is not advisable to apply for a PDL while waiting to take your FTT. PDL is valid for 6 months.
  8. After you've pass your FTT, it's time to start looking for a PDI.
  9. After you've found a PDI, lessons, rates and all are confirmed, you can apply for a PDL. (Like that the PDL can last longer until your practical test day). PDL can only be applied at the Traffic Polic Department at the test centre (level 2). But renewal of PDL can be done at any Singpost counter. (Cost: $25)
  10. Before you book you practical test, make sure that you have $20 in your CDC account for the booking of practical test. And also, make sure your CDC account's membership is not due for renewal until after the date of your practical test. Example 1: you want to book a practical test on 09/01/2013, your CDC account membership is due for renewal on 01/02/2013. You can go ahead and book the practical test. Example 2: you want to book a practical test on 09/01/2013, your CDC account membership is due for renewal on 03/01/2013. The system will not allow you to book the practical test. You have to renew your membership first before the system allow you to book the practical test. Renewal of CDC account membership is at $5.35. (Cost: $20 + $5.35)
  11. Your PDI will advise you on what to do next.

All NETS transactions done over the internet will have a transaction fee of $0.90.

Hope this helps:)

Hi Bro, after seeing your answer to another pal. I got a question to ask as i'm a student from CDC and just only take up the theory course from them. Just want to ask that the member duration last how long? And am I consider as the CDC membership member?

So far what i know from them is you have to complete and passed both test BTT and FTT within 6 mth of the day you register. IF any occasion you couldn't pass after that you need to pay extra $42.80 for (6 Months Extension) according to their website.

Please advise. Thanks

If im not wrong, the membership is for a duration 6 months every time you renew.

Yes, you are considered as the member and student of cdc.

I do not know about the extra $42.80. but from what i know from my friends who have yet to pass their BTT and FTT within 6 months, their renewal fee is $5.35. but you might want to check with CDC to make sure. :D

I was his student :s13:
What review would you like about him? Or is there any particular question about him you would like to know?:s13:

As for other reviews, you can search for his name on google, i have seen one not so nice review about him. So far he is good in my opinion.

He don't have chut pattern like keep on asking friend to teach, cancel lesson, drag lessons so he can earn more, sit there ask you read manual, dun let you book TP(but if really cannot drive he will not recommend you to book la) etc etc..

Every lesson i go will be driving here and there, request him let me practice parking+ask him stupid questions etc.

Even one hour lesson i ask him let me practice parking for 15 min he also dun mind bring out wooden planks and align them on the floor

He makes the effort to teach la, everytime in circuit he will go out of the car to walk and memorise the parking lot size, so when teaching outside he can set up the lot size correctly.

The $50 enrollment is part of the practice.
Don't worry about him cheating your money, i think he is more worried that students will "cheat" his money. :s13: Sometimes i drag 2-3 lessons w/o paying he also ok one. But sometimes i also auto a bit give him exact change if im the first student in the morning.

No, he is not part of any driving group.

He is like a classic PDI, all my driving lessons are taught by him, except once/twice when he couldn't make it for my circuit lesson and i was taught by his friend. Other on road lessons is him.

He dun bring you to those private circuit to practice, he only go the BBDC circuit cos that is where you take the test.

Sometimes when driving i will talk cock with him also, like ask him for advise on relationship problems, financial etc etc life problems etc. He is experienced la, honest person. Even if i never pass my driving test i never regret knowing him

Any Class 3 Manual PDI from SSDC or CDC to recommend? Have went through 2 lessons with this instructor of mine at SSDC, he's all right, doesn't chat much but will scold you when you make mistakes (not necessarily stupid ones). Got scolded once and somehow my mood to drive got affected ever since, so hope that I would get a patient instructor.

But am thinking of switching cause he can't really fit my schedule.(it is quite bad, have to wait alternate weeks for lessons.)

I'm hoping that the instructor allows radio to be switched on too, if not the learning process will be super dry. :s13: Thanks in advance!

go to Learning To Drive - Home and search for
"NG CHIN LYE"
he is one of the best instructors with the highest passing rate. He helped me to pass the test in first attempt. He is nice and care. CHINESE SPEAKING ONLY, strict, so you must trust him and give him patience and respect. Otherwise he will dismiss you (what he told me). you have to follow all his instructions like all your hand positions. Anyway, the ultimate goal is to help you to pass the test. I got 2 points for "insufficient acceleration in circuit"

Any Recommendations?

Dear All,

I have just passed both my BTT and FTT. Due to lazy eye problem, I had to go for extensive check up at hospital to get my PDL. Also, Was super confused on which to take, private or school. Finally, I have come across these hurdles, and decided on going for a Private Driving Instructor.... then comes to the last but most important part -- Finding a good, reliable, responsible, patient, systematic instructor.

I am staying in Tampines so doing TP ( though I don't know what it stands for but may be the practical test? saw this from this thread:p) in CDC.

Pls help to recommend a GOOD instructor teaching near CDC. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR Recommending =D

NEED HELP!!!

Hi guys,

I am currently taking Class 3 with a PDI from LearnEasyDriving. The thing is that my registration fees amounted to $100. Lessons are $30/hr off-peak and $32/hr for peak. He also ask me to pay $270 to book test. After reading this forum, I feel that its really damn expensive compared to the rest. I'm feeling that I'm being scammed by this instructor. I'm really confused and don't know what to do.

I really need your advice on my matter by replying here or you can PM me. Thanks

Dear all,

I came across this page reviewing PDI but not sure is done by their ex students or the PDI himself...

I have shortlisted the names below:

LUO LIANG SO 96166670 Passing Rate:45.45% Both Manual and Auto
NG CHIN LYE 96828502 Passing Rate:55% Both Manual and Auto
PECK CHIN HUAT 97304050 Passing Rate:37.88% Auto

Did anyone of the seniors here went through course with any of these 3 PDI? Any reviews? or other recommendations?

I am looking for Ubi instructors, still considering to do Auto or Manual... >"<

Thanks a million in advance! Really appreciate any sharing!

the hourly rates is fine but reg fee is double
270 to book test may include circuit fee and revision fee
when u take TP, u need to pay car rental fee to ur PDI
IIRC should be around 150?
so 150 + insurance? + circuit + revision = 200+ already

u have to ask ur PDI to break down the 270 inorder to know whats inside

You all can try Mr Jackson Ng at CDC. Really good instructor. teach you everything and tips. no shortchange.
Never late and end earlier. If end early, he will deduct some from the fee.

His mobile number is 97336587. He does Auto and Manual

I still yet to pass due to my own mistake.

He's quite patient and won't scold you unless you really keep making same old mistake but after that he will be ok already. quite a chill instructor.

say is i intro one. my name is darryll.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for recommendation.
Just wanna check with you, do you know his full name? Just wanna check on the passing rate. N try to compile for forumner if possible.

Thanks!
