I am not here to debate opinions, if you want to do so go to my thread and we can do it in a proper manner

I’m only here to report others hurling insults when they don’t agree with me

The name calling, in all honesty, is minor.
Your reports was rejected based on these grounds.

I would also add the following: if you have a view that’s polarising or unpopular - then you should be mindful towards others who have differing opinions (and equal rights to freedom of expression) than yours instead of having a chip on your shoulder.

I noted that my report has been rejected as name calling is minor. I have no issues with my report being rejected, but I am just very confused by the moderation standards.

That being said, is there a way to differentiate between major and minor name calling? I am of the impression that name calling of all sorts is not allowed.

So is there any guideline on this?

Lastly, it is said that my view was unpopular - fine.

I have duly engaged with many members of the community in a constructive manner. Most have exchanged differences in opinion which I find no issue with, except for the particular user in the report. While exchanging opinions is fine by me as long as it does not get personal, I think we should draw the line when someone resorts to name calling and provocation

Does this mean if I do not agree with someone's opinion, I get to call him a "dumbwit" and "numbskull" just because I am not happy? And to get away with it since it is a minor name calling?

If you say so, then no problem. But could you have an extensive list of words which constitute major and minor name calling so we can know what to avoid thanks.

Can @Dragon or @Dr.Vijay also shed some light on this please?

Please tell me the reason for infraction, and how is this considered harassment. I have engaged this user @Hiling care in light hearted banter throughout many threads, and tagging him for some laughs together.

Did he report me for tagging him? If so, I accept my infraction and will stop.

Lastly, it is funny how this is seen as harassment but someone else calling me a "dumb wit" and "numbskull" is considered minor.

The worrying thing is that mods and admins so far are indicating that it's ok to call worse names AND it's ok to adopt the attitude of calling names as long as the argument is well-reasoned and substantiated.
However, if an argument is well-reasoned and superior, why is there even the need to call names and be proud of it?

If my post was removed because it had nothing of substance and was pure name-calling, I'm sure mods or admins have the ability to edit a well-reasoned post to remove the unnecessary lines so as to increase the signal to noise ratio. A concerning message is being sent to us readers when even the name-calling is not edited out at the very least.

I have tried to debate properly with anyone who disagreed with me and many (while unhappy) have engaged me with their POV which I accept.

But in the case of this user, he was allowed to get away for what was deemed a minor name calling. And comments were not even deleted.

To top things off, I got infracted almost at the same time for "harassing" another user @Hiling care whom I have had many light hearted interactions with on all sorts of topics in various threads.

You were reported by other users for persistently harassing another forum user. This has been reported to us since Jan 2023. Perhaps you may think it’s light hearted banter; but others may not take it otherwise. Just a thought.

we had constant light hearted (albeit classic mild trolling) with each other for a long time, did he report me even once?

in fact he tags me too and we have lots of fun banter

so how am I harassing him? in fact, in the context of that comment, how is that harassing? I am even more confused now

and likewise, you might think the name calling (using words like dumbwit and numbskull) is minor and does not even warrant a deletion, let alone warning/infraction

but many members in the feedback forum thread thought otherwise

to make things worse, the user in question decided to continue even after i told him to stop - this is akin to provocation and harassment


care to clarify further?

if those words are not prohibited then I would accept your explanation and assume in future no one should get infracted for using such words. Then we can move on
