Both are different technologies. So cannot compare like this.. :D
Yo.... I think he is refering to with Mu -Mimo coming in .... :Having active antenna will benefits over the passive antenna....

That is why I reply as not sure.... :D

But after 1 week using this babe.... I notice that on my A8 , speedtest from various location in the house get a stable up/down reading....

In the past yes I have coverage but the up/down are inconistance... at one point A8 drop to N speed...

This problem totally diseappear now...

Trichard I manage to find out why my display is always on 2.4GHz only. Actually, the WiFi Analysis app allows the selection of 5GHz as well.

I was playing with it this morning and found it out. I'll confirm my 5GHz channel and dBA when I gets home tonight.

Hey ...... yes right at the top left hand corner of the apps.

Good to see that you also learning from the expert at the AC5300 thread, they are experience guys.

Try out how good is band steering on its tri-radio SC in your Asus ....

Netgear has not enabled band steering on tri-radio , hopefuly there will be a beta firmware which can do that (which the X8000 does have a beta) .

is this the best router right now?

i need to set up router for about 3000sqft. right now my current WNDR3700 cannot reach many rooms. i was actually intending to set up 1 wireless router together with 2 more wireless AP. but i was wondering if this big router can do it all.

thanks.

Re

trichard

I tested my ASUS RT AC5300 using Samsung Note 4

For 5GHz its

-38dBA at Ch 44

For 2.4GHz

-35dBA at Ch 6

So is the ASUS RT AC5300 better than your NETGEAR
