This comment is good from a forum.

"Netgears new antenna design is very smart, and putting the other 2 radios on the inside is perfectly fine with me, its not like you need a second 5GHz with the same range as the 1st, and its not like internal 2.4 isnt gonna outdo external 5GHz, so 2.4GHz might be hit, but i dont wanna use 2.4GHz anyway"

Making sense that just design the unit as a router ... And a good coveage .. Instead of all antenna sticking out ....and quickly push out .. The design of the unit show how much consideration are done.

Check something.

1) Is the MU-MIMO enabled?

2) How's the Smart Connect working? Got 2-band & 3-band selection?

Thanks

(1) - end of the year firmware will be ready.

(2) - SC thru 5G BAND without 2.4G. Working well as only 2x 5G.

What happen ? Some issue with your AC5300 ?

So the SC only works on 2 bands (5GHz-1 and 5GHz-2). ASUS AC5300 can have 3 bands SC i.e. inclusive of 2.4GHz as well

Issue? Yah lah. 3-band SC will put almost all my 5GHz devices into 2.4GHz band. 2-band SC still reasonable. Puts some of my 5GHz devices in the 5GHz band and some in the 2.4GHz band

That's until you accidentally break it... :p

Your X5300 can also I think .... SC 5hz and leaving 2.4G out ....

Yeah, $599 at Sitex, comes with a free AC1200 WiFi USB dongle.
Hope it really does provide a wider coverage.. this is my 5th router since moving to my current apt.
