yes I registered the Revolut card with the SimplyGo app... then added the Revolut card to my smartwatch to tap.

it's the only card that is added to my smartwatch. No issue with tapping in/out. There was a -$0.10 pending charge shown on the Revolut app when I tapped in but nothing happened after I tapped out (and tapped in again subsequently).

as for SimplyGo app, completely empty under the card. so I can't see the tapping in/out and bus/mrt details that I took that day (which is Sunday).

maybe next round I'll use the physical card to tap in/out and see how...
So, to be clear, you actually have a few Revolut cards. There is the 'virtual' card (the one in blue in the app) & the physical card (design depends on which one you chose when you ordered the card but I'll refer to it as the purple card since that's the most common design). Both have different card numbers & both can be added to your ApplePay/GooglePay wallets (on the phone or smartwatch) & used for contactless payment, including bus/mrt.

(We will ignore the 'one-time' online use card because it is not relevant here.)

However, SimplyGo sees them as two different cards. If you register the blue card in SimplyGo, but tap on & off using the purple card, you will see the 10c deduction transaction in the Revolut app, but you will not see the trip in SimplyGo, & vice versa. So for this to work, you have to tap on & off using the same card (blue or purple, & it doesn't matter if you use the physical card, or your phone or smart watch) as the one that was registered in SimplyGo.

So, you need to check if the trip you took on the 24th was using the same card number as the one registered in SimplyGo (if you tap on the 10c transaction in the Revolut app, it will show the last 4 digits of the card used). If it is the same, then, yes there is a problem.

... my bus/MRT ride on 24th (Sunday) still not posted today (29th). Is it normal? It's only showing -$0.10 pending in the app.

What about the rides since the 24th? Have they been posted in the SimplyGo app?

Does the app also shows the breakdown of the trips like Google Pay?

I don't know what is shown on GooglePay, but SimplyGo will show each the beginning & end of each segment & the cost, for each ride.

my SimplyGo account still showing nothing for the card. TransitLink says we supposed to wait 7 days after card activation before adding a new card into the SimplyGo app. First time hearing this...

First I have heard of this. FWIW, I added the card immediately after activation & had no issues

really crappy experience overall. I don't think I'll get to enjoy the 20% cashback for public transport for this month..

The cashback from Revolut is regardless of whether you registered on SimplyGo. Revolut calculates the cashback on their end, based on the total spend for the month. If the issue is just SimplyGo not capturing your trip, as long as you were charged for the trip (ie, there is spend on the Revolut account), you will still get the rebate.

No. It's completely empty in the SimplyGo app. "No transaction record found" for subsequent trips since 24th.

Something wrong for my card with SimplyGo then. TransitLink's response is to ask me to 're-add' the card after 7 days from day of activation. I may just try that once the "7 days" is over. But they said they'll also investigate at their end and update me again...

As for cashback, there's still no posted charges in the Revolut app. It just shows
-$0.10 for Tl-Abt Registration (pending until 1 Aug)
-$0.10 for Bus/mrt on 24 July (pending until 9 Aug)

no further pending charges are shown (even for the subsequent trips)

So idk if I'll actually get any cashback... or when the charges will be finally posted 🤷‍♂️

But well, at least all the trips I made so far are successful. So maybe... maybe... I'm getting free rides for now 🤣

No. It's completely empty in the SimplyGo app. "No transaction record found" for subsequent trips since 24th.

From the sounds of it, probably just a SimplyGo problem then. I'll remove the card & add it again. (Maybe after the 7 days lol).

This is normal.

On about 1 Aug, the first 10c for Registration will be cancelled out & the money refunded to your Revolut account.

For the 2nd charge, the 10c charge will change to whatever is the total bus & mrt charges for the 5 day period starting from 24th (ie from 24th to 28th) or less if you hit $15. It takes TL up to a week after the end of the period to post this charge, so check back in early August. To be clear, whenever it is that TL posted the transaction, the charge is still billed on the original date of the 10c charge (ie 24th in your case, so it counts towards your July rebate.

& no, you won't lose out if it is posted the following month because the rebate is only credited about 20ish days the following month so plenty of time.

Just to be clear, the rebate is based on transaction date and not posted date?

I read past 30 pages... can't find any confirmation - is cashback computed based on posted date or transaction date? For MC it can mean both dates are in different months lol..

They will accumulate the total transaction for a period of time and then post it based on the date where the 10 cents is deducted one lah.

ok, just an update for those following my plight...

so I decided to test out other methods of 'tapping' today to see if the issues I faced when using SimplyGo/Revolut is the same across different platforms

1. Using physical card
For the first time, the trips finally show up in SimplyGo when I used the physical card to tap the bus/mrt.

2. Using GooglePay and phone's NFC
No issues as well. The trips are showing up in SimplyGo.

In both cases, the transactions are reflected as -$0.10 as shared by other users. The final charge won't be shown on the Revolut app till MC consolidates and finalise the charge after 5 days (or $15 whichever is earlier).

And in both cases, the transactions are reflected in detail in SimplyGo! just as it is supposed to.

... and yet the previous days' transactions are not reflected in SimplyGo nor were there -$0.10 reflected in the Revolut app other than on the 24th only. All these trips were tapped using my smartwatch via Garmin Pay.

so I think I can conclude that it's not because of reasons like "7-days after activation", "5 days for MC to charge", "delay due to new card", "8-10 days after the 5-days block charge"... blah blah. The issue should be the link between SimplyGo/Revolut with Garmin Pay.

idk how it'll be resolved but I'll wait and see when Revolut decides to show the final charges in the app or release the pending charge (-$0.10) - which will mean that I'm getting free rides :devilish: since there's no transaction record in SimplyGo as well (for the previous days').

thanks to all those who've helped to ascertain some of the processes.

Probably no need.
hopefully not. wonder if other users can verify.

anyway I myself top up $300 when I opened the account last month, but immediately withdrew to $0 on the same day (like, less than an hour later) after realizing that I can't use the card/app yet for SimplyGo. A few days later I top up a bit (like $20) again for the last week of July to use for transport.

so see whether can get the cashback for July or not... fingers crossed.
