I tried to use Revolut to transfer yen to a Japanese bank account. The receiving bank tried to charge a 4,000 yen fee on a 1,000 yen transfer as Revolut uses SWIFT! I normally use Wise which has no fees at the receiving bank. Wouldn't recommend using Revolut to transfer money to Japan - it's ok using Revolut to spend there or use ATMs there.
Yup. I was also charged 4k yen by revolut bank jpm and receiving bank smbc.. 2nd time I just use wise as they use local transfer which will not incur swift fees.

Why is there a fee when I transfer the remaining money in wallet to my bank. Previously, there is no fees.

How many times did you do so?

SGD Transfers to Bank Accounts in Singapore:

  • A fair usage limit of five (5) free transfers will apply to bank accounts in Singapore ("Fair Usage Limit"). Thereafter, you will be charged a fee of S$2.99 for each transfer to bank accounts in Singapore. Do note, both card transfer and bank transfer count toward the fair usage limit of five (5) free transfers a month. PDA sweep is excepted from the Fair Usage Limit.

I did transfered a few times last month, but didn't count the number of times though. Thought this is a new calendar month, so wouldn't affect. Will try again mid month. Thanks!

it depends on whether the atm got the Mastercard, Maestro or Cirrus logos right?
Yes.. Currently in KL, the atm must have those logos u mentioned. But be careful, a few atms in airport prompted 15rm fees to withdraw cash. Don't know why, just proceed to other atms or outside airport to avoid fees.

For Public Bank ATM, i used to withdraw from same place (Taman Sentosa) but suddenly it wont work anymore, the error was always transaction rejected.
RHB ATM at JBCC same issue.

Ambank works fine with youtrip but last withdraw is years ago, things might have changed.

I will just transfer to my HSBC malaysia account and withdraw, less headache

Most likely you insert wrong side, face up chip side in first. I just withdrew last week at Johor Bahru no issues.
