Yup. I was also charged 4k yen by revolut bank jpm and receiving bank smbc.. 2nd time I just use wise as they use local transfer which will not incur swift fees.I tried to use Revolut to transfer yen to a Japanese bank account. The receiving bank tried to charge a 4,000 yen fee on a 1,000 yen transfer as Revolut uses SWIFT! I normally use Wise which has no fees at the receiving bank. Wouldn't recommend using Revolut to transfer money to Japan - it's ok using Revolut to spend there or use ATMs there.
