Anyone manage to top up using Google Pay? My Google Pay has DBS Debit card linked and it seems to not be able to get through
Google pay top up has always been on and off issue. Revolut will blame google pay, google pay will blame the bank, your bank will blame Revolut.

The Referral promotion is back, this time round at $40. But I check - can someone confirmed only the one who gave the referral gets $40, how about the one who signed up?

Saw in the terms stated clearly only those received an email from them on the referral will be eligible.

since revolut card top up and bank withdrawal no fees, what's stopping people from drawing down on card as a cash advance without the cash advance fees?
Just sharing guys, bank CS inform me on my first Cash Advance transaction using credit card, after I successfully top-up the wallet.

They checked if it was indeed me, I confirmed, anyway to reverse they say no, they say have to pay min $15 or 6% (which is higher) + daily compound interest

Did you check the MCC for the transaction?
Every once in a while, Revolut MCC gets kicked back to like 4829, instead of 6012 or 6540.

You may try to get back the fee from Revolut, if is MCC issue.

CIMB

6012 - CS say will charge $15 or 6% (depend which higher) ... si bei sianz

Revolut today ignore the request, push back the responsibility to bank, since they charge, we cannot do anything about it. Speak to the bank.
Bank say due to Revolut platform MCC 6012, we need to charge you cash advance.

Nowadays CS easy, just ping-pong the issue.

CIMB

On side note, which is the safest most convenient top-up ? I thinking of using GPay, only scare GPay function as a proxy, which means the MCC code still remain and I will get hit with cash advance fee again.

Actually MCC 6012 is the standard visa MCC for Revolut, so not Revolut's fault. There was once, they jumped back to 4829, and they paid me back the cash advance fees.

It's puzzling, why 6012 will incur cash advance fees, perhaps banks will start implementing cash advance fees for all 6012 in the future ?

might be due to many people using credit card to buy crypto ? end up innocent Revolut get put into the same basket

quick search, Revolut does offer crypto wallet overseas (not in SG yet) at the moment

Each bank can have their own "classification" as to which MCC incurs cash advance fee, same for exclusions. For example, one of my US card gets cash advance fee, if used to top up grab (MCC 6540).

Always advised to try small amount or min amount to check. Like this card is $15 or 6% for cash advance, so test charge will be $250, even if get cash advance, is also the optimal $15.

Alternatively, some banks can reduce cash advance amount. You may have $15k limit and like $5000 cash advance limit. Maybe can call and reduce the cash advance limit to minimum amount of like $200, then you test charge above that (like $250). If is cash advance, bank should reject the $250 charge.

It must be new policy or decision. did revolut top-up via CIMB in aug. just went back to statement to double confirm if they got charge me fees without knowing, but there isn't. so should be new by CIMB

seem like using CC to top up wallet quite risky (for now)
