Rig is running HOT when IDLE!!!

I just brought a rig, and the best part is this pc is running at 38-40 degrees at idle. While playing flight simulator x it can runs up to 72 degrees. I had done OC to 4ghz. Vcore is set to auto.

My question is how can I bring down my idle & max voltage and at the same time. I also did reapply the thermal paste but it is still running the same temperature.

My rig details:
CPU & MB: Intel i5-3570k with Gigabyte Z77x-UD3h BIOS: 19e
GPU: Evga 560Ti SuperOC
Casing: Fractal R4
CPU cooler: Corsair H80i

Any details i left out?

I can't play my game in peace. Worry I might burn my chip & GPU. I also intend to OC to 4.2 or 4.5Ghz if possible.

dont worry Intel and it seems you have a good mobo they will throttle down your processor if it reaches 100c.. you will know if you hit 100c if you suddenly have lagging and such.

Consider using manually set Adaptive or Offset Vcore instead.

if you really are concerned about the temp of you chip then I would suggest you have you chip delidded. you have two choices if you are in east area you can contact this forumer

Not really good in Vcore thingy. Care to share what Vcore should i set it to? I did try afew x but system not stable, thus i put auto.

Average 4.2Ghz needs at least around 1.15volts, 4.5Ghz might be tough as most 3570K needs around 1.25 to 1.3Volts. And that contributes to heat as well. So ideally 4.2Ghz would be sweet and nice.

Loadline Calibration sets to "Turbo", and that allows a bit of vdroop and can protect your chip from dangerous voltage spikes when overclocking.
Do not set to "extreme" unless you know what you're doing.

Stress test with Linx to confirm stability.

That's good, the most I can get at idle at stock 3570K clocks with power saving mode on is 35degs (Antec 920, noctua nf-f12 pull, silent fan profile)

my 4 years rig. idle temp is 60 deg play games at 80 deg. also never spoil.

anyway car engine temp is 200 deg and more. i dont see the car metal melt.
