okay i did some research...

for GPUs - 2 things to look out for... height over standard pci slot and width beyond dual pci slot

DCUII will not fit (width issue)
EVGA kingpin card will not fit (height issue)
G10 Kraken bracken will likely not fit (width issue)

from a price to performance, i've decided to (eventually) get a GTX750Ti from ASUS... decent 1080p performance... once oc'd it will rival a stock 580 and will run cooler with less power requirements (not that i should be worried with a ax860i)...

6 pin placement is weird but i can use the 250d Frame to hide the wires accordingly...

i've figured out that the USB2.0 internal connectors are mid-board... so cleaning up the corsair link wires will not be easy...

Still researching if the bracket will fit but won't it look uber cool.. then imagine the overclocking experiments you can do...

I have a feeling that an over clocked 750ti will equal a stock 580...

If not maybe 660ti... not considering this into budget yet... theory crafting only...

Bro, at most GTX 650 Ti Boost nia....

Stock GTX 580 is on par to R9-270X...

in my view, the 250d is very big casing, mitx board but big almost atx footprint. you sure you wife can accept? :D

no need get h100i, instead coolermaster nepton or zalman reserator can do good enough work with 1 size rad so you can cut down the footprint.

if you want 750ti, can order from amazon free shipping in 2weeks. evga is the brand, good solid overclocking batches.

Definitely not as big as BitFenix Prodigy as far as i've seen...

Saying that it has ATX chassis footprint is really :s22:.

CASE: Corsair Obsidian 250D can support H100i?

Cool. I've a H100i and a 7970 3 slot GPU lying around. Got it from Amazon on impulse buy. Will consider this setup.
Yes...

Read the description and see the picture...

If you want to build a Mini ITX system without sacrificing expansion, flexibility, or performance, the Obsidian Series 250D is your answer. Though it’s small on the outside, the 250D has room for standard components like a full-size 5.25” optical drive, a full-length GPU, a 240mm radiator, and even a full-size ATX power supply.

sorry i meant matx.
for wife, will consider something like ft03 or ft03mini titanium colour for that unique design and aluminium exterior with a smaller footprint.

250d looks too gamey.

Sigh, just staring that height clearance beyond standard pci is a factor... Kingpin is a good example of over height cards...

It's just a 1080p 60hz rig to be used mostly for excel duh... Learn to size your gpu to your monitor...

Since I'm a gamer and my kid plays games too might as well get something that we can also have fun with than just plain excel rig...

Been researching a lot on mITX cases, so maybe I can offer some suggestions:

Why you don't think excel is very well threaded?

Companies have long shifted to quad cores (i5) as the standard with power users given i7s.

Excel files used in business today is not the simple 65,000 rows with simple sum function.. I'm talking about 300mb single excel files that are literally statistical juggernauts combing through data to find patterns with multiple formulas that are 4 lines long

That is just raw data not to mention pivots that consolidate the results..

don't think excel is so simple, can? ;p

Btw, your one to talk... look at your own rig... titan black with a single 1080p 60hz.. lulwut? Do you get fps higher than 60?

Also what are you using your 4770k for... just purely games? Not even video editing?
