My hypothesis on this is that curved screens - in terms of manufacturing / production / cost etc. has matured now after the Note edge, S6 Edge etc.
So maybe in this direction, all phones will have edge.

Actually all phones do have edge "E" , when the reception / data is real real bad this is bad joke.
