3 years.

I'm taking my CFA now (company foots the bill if I pass so why not :s13:)

Masters... probably.

And before some idiot says it's not possible to qualify for masters with a degree via distant learning, my own lecturer debunked that myth. His own wife graduated from UOL and went onto HBS to obtain her MBA.

wow ! good luck for your CFA ~! im sure you'll pass w flying colors ^^

HELLOS EVERYONE ~!

ive look through the previous pages of thread but yet to find any topic for RMIT Econs & Finance :( its mostly RMIT management/marketing or UOL ehh .. im actually very interested in registering for the advanced 2 (12module) jan 2013 intake ~ anyone with the same idea ? ^^

also seeking advice from current students to share your experience in this degree ~~ *heard that econs is an area where it is very hard to score? :/

Hi I'm taking econs and finance now. An in advance 2 sem 2 now and I need to say, RMIT program isn't like what it was before. My friends who graduated today had a diff course structure from us. It is tougher now and econs is easy but finance is killer. I took uol bridging last year during may or June and I thank god that I didnt continue cos my friends who r in uol r suffering.

Know what? Your questions are so open ended. What do you want to know?

There are 2 law subjects, Business Law and Law of Investments. Didn't do well for those.

There's also Macroeconomics 2, which isn't difficult so much as the content is really heavy. Really have to study consistently for this.

Then there is Risk Management and Introduction to Futures and Options which were quite tough for me, really need to practice alot to do well. And I mean ALOT, the tutorials aren't enough.

The rest of the subjects aren't too difficult. Just need to study. There's not a single subject that is a sure pass to me.

Subjects which have weightage for projects are really dependent on your project group. In stage 1, you are allocated your group members. Which kinda suck to me since I had a really bad group in 1 semester, everyone dragged their feet on their project work. Needless to say, we scrapped credits for all except 1 project. For semester 2, you get to choose your group mates so I went back to people I could work well with.

There's 1 subject in the last semester called Investments which have a 50% component on writing a research report on a particular SGX-listed company chosen by the lecturer. I can't tell you how important this project is. It should be the only project in this semester so please pour your heart and soul into this. The exam is open book, so it was a tough bitch for me.

application open already,
i think they increased the fees o_O

woots !! the application is finally open ~ i think the fees did not increase, previously it was 12modules $19k+ .. now is max 16modules $25k+, its going by the number of modules you take :)
BUT the change in program structure is making me confuseddd :s11: so are we now able to choose our own timetable and modules that we want to take instead of the previously fixed modules??
