You must be driving a small sedan. For cars using D23 batteries eg camry or D26 batteries such as lexus gs300 - if their batteries are fully drained or worse internally damaged - It is impossible to jump start with a portable kit. It is already impossible to jump start with another car for these battery cases, unless the battery was weak, like still got around 12 volts.

what about those 1.5L to 1.6L de car, e.g. the new Mazda 3, able to jump start using the portable kit? Cos i plan to get one of these...

Mazda 2 3 6 all using same battery size as camry. If the battery is weak only, portable kit may work. But if battery is damaged and left with around 10 volts or less - portable kit or another similar car to jump start also will not work.

Call onsite replacement.
Best practice is to replace the battery every 1.5 yr no matter what condition the battery is in.

but sometime bo bian mah... say if whole family go oversea holiday for 1 or 2 weeks, come back the battery flat?

Rent your car out lo(if you dare to do so).

You may try to disconnect the battery when away as it helps thou.

The easiest way is to disconnect the negative (black) cable from the battery. You can reconnect it back when you are back from your holiday.

@li9ht5peed is right. (Almost?) all Mazda's and the Camry uses the 23L battery.

About the 10v, actually if car battery is below 12V in Singapore, it is already more than 50% discharged and there's a high chance it cannot deliver sufficient current (CCA - cold cranking ampere) to start the car engine.

Also, if a car battery registers 10v, it will most likely (99%) require a replacement. Why? Because it would mean that at least one of the lead plates is already spoilt. Remember, the 12.6v comes from 6 lead-acid batteries of 2.1v connected in series. It is only when at least one is spoilt that the car battery will go below 10.5v ( =12.6 - 2.1). I hope this explanation is clear.

wow, so technical, actually i am very confuse on the mAh , V and Ampre thing... why is the car battery measure in V instead of mAh or Watt or A?

If the car battery is fully charge it will be 24 v? then slowly drop as it discharge?

Very easy only but once u plug out, the ecu will be reset also
Ur HU radio station will also reset i think

ECU will be reset? will it cause any inconvenience to the driver? If he never temper or modify with the ECU before, reset should be ok right? Just like a reset on the pc?
