So is it more advisable to invest with a balanced portfolio or an aggressive portfolio? (For both platform)

Long term = aggressive portfolio
Medium term = balanced portfolio
Short term = humji portfolio

Am I reading this correct?

7 Apr 2019 (Total Invested: $1700):$898.76/$876.50

Total cash in $1700.
Earn $75.26 with the highest risk profile? :o

Yup that's right, however, the total earnings are a combination of both stashaway and smartly highest risk portfolios.

From the data, u can see that stashaway contributed 48.76 profit while smartly 26.50

Hi guys, would it be wise for me to spilt my monthly saving and put 50% of it into stashaway? I know nothing about investment and just putting money in the bank seems like a waste. I planning to put it to the highest risk and slowly adjust it lower as my deposit goes higher.

Sounds alright I’m also planning to do something similar.

Instead of manually adjusting the risk level, you could set a goal with a timeframe and as it comes closer to the target date, Stashaway will automatically shift your “riskier” assets into something “safer”.

This way you won’t get any sudden drop in value close to your withdrawal date and save you the hassle of manually adjusting the risk.

Another way is to split your funds into a high risk rating account and a lower risk account.

I may discontinue the comparison soon as it is rather clear that stashaway is superior in most aspects to smartly.

Just to share an article that compares the upcoming dimensional funds with smartly and stashaway

Reply from Stashaway on Estate Taxes upon death

If you invest as an individual, the estate tax regulation applies. However, since you are registered on our ledger as a beneficiary of Asia Wealth Platform (StashAway's legal entity), which is a corporate, you are not subject to this estate and gift tax (unless you're an American citizen). This is also one of the advantages of investing with StashAway.

U mean sell then get the money without tax?

As in, I don't think you are able to transfer directly to your child stashaway account. The executor/administrator will have to redeem the holdings

Based on what stashaway claims, there will not be any taxes incurred at the US side.

The U.S. imposes a 40% estate tax rate on U.S. assets above a $60,000 exemption threshold on assets of the deceased non-residents.
