hi guys, i'm currently a uni student that is a complete newbie in terms of investing and looking to start small ah.
Aiming for long term of around 5-10years with like $100/month spare to invest for now at least. Just want to give it a try while i'm still studying.
Any suggestions on what portfolio to go for ?

thank you so much in advance :)

I'm using both, stashaway for 3.5yrs and Syfe for 6months.
I strongly recommend stashaway. I'm currently up 24% in total.
I started with a medium risk profile but now setting to the max of 36%.

I always recommend my friends to start stashaway first since I have use them much longer hence more confidence.

Feel free can use my code:
CODE REMOVED BY MODERATOR

But if really can only choose one then go for stashaway.

Disapptd but i will still monitor

Why stashaway? but i admit its interface is more professional (better)
Your stashaway must be that equity (not its Sg income) right? Syfe is not the Reits?
So it is up 24% after 3.5yr right?

My time-weighted closed to 50% after a 2yr+ with Stashawy of risk profile of 36%!!!
My qn for Stashaway, they really ought to "rebalance" and strategise faster esp economy starts to pick up now

i m shocked to see that they are still maintaining it Too "safe" (for my 36% risk, if i wanna it safe i would NOT even opted for highest risk right??)
.......................... Performance.....Weightage
China-tech KWEB...... Top1 ............Highest : Logical!
AAXJ ...................... Top3 .............Lowest : ?????????
Consumer Discr XLY....Top2 ............Top3rd :
SPEM (Emerg mkt)......Top4.............Lowest 3rd : ???
Gold......................Lowest ............Top 2!! : ???
36% Risk (out of a total 8 ETFs)
Why is gold so high in weitage? (when we know that Gold will never go far in a high-risk pf)
Shouldnt AAXJ deserved MUch more weightage although u dont hve to put it till top 3 weightage if u r afraid of Std-deviation/risk!

the ans can be easily obtained during their Weekly Commentary( u could post any qns or suggestions too, i posted my suggestions too) -
1st, they dont do rebalancing every now and then
2nd , it is highly obvious they wanna keep it safe (which is why I pumped more later into Syfe Eqty100 since i dont find Stashaway satisfactory) too
Next, i doubt they are NOT confident, to "sell" Gold, but more of Equity, they may endup "losing" More
Last, i sometimes dont quite like their replies (some said Stashway has many excuses all the time https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/132036881-post877.html ) so eventually it is better Not to ask
their proudest pdt is having China-tech KWEB in it.....lol

I thanks Stashawy Robo too @ least this is not in red! their sg income is Much more terrifyg!Sold liao! , without Stash taking certain safe steps, I will never learn MORE on my own and be it Much more indpendent and do more on my own
(I gave them good ratings previously on Seedly too)

eg i try out with Stashaway Simple in 2019 , for a year or so too, but shockingly they are the First to drop returns from Claiming to be @ 1.9% to 1.4% in 2020 (3rd quarter) , which is why i felt they cannot even sustain !!!!
if an endowUs (they are not too old in sg mkt too) are able to pay more than what Endowus actually claimed, i do NOT see why Stashaway Simple cannot even pay close to 1.9% :

(tks Final Destiny for sharing this pic fr Endowus) https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/132124134-post100.html
honestly, 1 has to look @ your rival to see what u can offer Best!!!

Gold eagle concluded appropriately about Syfe ARI which could be true for stashaway w all the "safe" products!!!! : it is fine to be in a Bad yr, but risky doesnt mean all bad as we Chinese know Risks = More opportunities
Stashaway Over-protected the funds (& still worrying excessively tht a collapse or meltdwn happening in 2021) during the "correction" in early 2020 but failed to go back in to reap the upside!!!

Impt to have a rate that can at least beat the inflation..... https://youtu.be/KCYDIFDiHag
2020 bad year for syfe lei. Underperform index equivalent for 15% and 25% badly. How will they turn the tide if they only hold equities and bonds, which are relatively similar to index.

Do they weight heavily to certain sectors for alpha ?
They protected the funds during the "correction" in mar 20 slightly but failed to go back in to reap the upside on time.

They benchmark accordingly to world equity and govt bonds allocation ratio.

Basically risk parity. If you all want compare 100% equity portfolio, can compare with their 36%.

75% equity is 26%

22% portfolio launch in 2019 so cannot compare directly with the rest.

but Stash's 36% risk has Gold! ref: https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/132150996-post884.html
& the "Gold amount" is definitely the highest top2 in the composition

read hw others felt too - https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/132797714-post966.html

Stash has an obsession with Gold. I remember switching to the 36% portfolio when they started offering it because it was the only one without Gold. then they sneakily added it -_-

it does seems to be a risky move. They are betting on a runaway inflation that would make Gold a good hedge and safe haven.

I am happy to hold 5-10% as well. at above 25%.. not sure if that is being prudent

Yes i know they frequently has such webinars, u could post on their fb and they will pick it up latr!
I sold all the sg income le, it was too painful to hold it for a yr + and ended up my rewards r so much lesser than a singlife 2.5% at that tume

I like Jovan, panzhe, frugal and Lee ‘s ans: same as mine too

U dca when u wish to get into a regular savg/investmt pattern esp when u cannot do a reasonable sum at 1 go....

(DCA is a stratergy made mainly for passive investing. It works on one assumption ie underlying asset always goes up over the long run)

Recently learned about roboinvestors and thinking about trying. Currently thinking of stashaway with their highest risk (~$5k, no DCA). What do you guys think?

Also, not sure if this is the right place to ask but does anyone have a stashaway referral code I can use too?

Thanks all :)
