The projection is 40,000 commuters every day via RTS. If 1/4 is shoppers and each spend about RM $100, that's RM $1 mil revenue a day. It is a very good investment for JB.

I based the numbers on the RTS official projection and DBS' expenditure for frequent travellers. I agree these are on the conservative side but the final figure is to illustrate why JB is so keen on RTS.

The other aspect not mentioned is RTS provides a lot of good employment opportunities for their people. They will bring their income back to JB to spend.

MRT expensive meh? If a few dollars is expensive to you then what is cheap

Wait till you drive ah, every trip costs at least $25 worth of petrol + toll fees

Even so, I still drive in almost every day

Thus I think when rts ready, lotsa sinkie looking to rent out rooms to retire will be stuck wonder why very little people asking to rent their rooms

I never said they renting there woh, said they buying house in JB. Go to 小红书 can see so many of developers advertising new developments in JB for Malaysian to buy then use RTS to come over. Lotsa Malaysians commenting bout buying
