Looks like the FE is the hottest card of them all. Based on these, the tri fans generally run bout 3-5 degrees cooler than the duals.

I got the dual fan palit cos Im using 500w PSU & didnt want the hassle of replacing PSU etc. GPU does run at 80ish deg but I dont see throttling yet.

It does get LOUD like jet engine & it causes the rear of my case to warm up quite a bit.

Firstly, cheap Palit also got LED. :s13:

The parts circled red gets very warm when GPU in load. The GPU exhausts all the hot air from the fins just above the GeForce wordings. It blasts onto the side panel & gets pushed up & gets sucked out by rear fan.

Im using Tecware Evo Nexus which is not exactly a good airflow case, but Im wondering if theres anything I can do to reduce GPU temps or a new case is needed. Currently 2 input front & 1 output rear.

From what I see on YT, adding one additional input fan & top exhaust fan dont really help much but I wanna get 2nd opinion from you all.

Without side panel, GPU runs at bout 75deg.

Put 2-3 fans below the gpu

I correct myself. I see the throttling now. 70ish deg the gpu clock start slowing down

Theres no vent below the case to pull fresh air in. Will it still work?

If there is no vent, no point installing fans.

Try undervolting, it helps OR set a custom fan curve using AB.

Bro.. I was referring to aftermarket dual fan cooling design.. the link you given are all 3 fan design. Of course they perform better than the FE..

Anyway, there are not that many reviews yet for 3060ti dual cooling designs, but we can look at 3070 to compare the aftermarket coolers and cooling efficiency.

In this instance, tech yes city did a comparison. As u can see, the ASUS DUAL 3070 HAS to operate at higher fan speed and produce more noise to match the FE in terms of temperature. The ASUS DUAL is also being much larger than the FE.

ASUS dual dimensions: 26.7cm x 13.5cm x 5.2cm (Uses almost 3 SLOTS!!)
NVDIA FE dimensions: 24.2cm x 11.2cm x 3.8cm

The ASUS Dual is much thicker and larger than half of the aftermarket dual fan cards. However, the cooling efficiency can't beat the FE. I cannot imagine how much worse the others will perform.

If u look at some of the other dual fan cooling market design, twin edge, Ventus 2x and Palit dual. Not only they have a smaller heatsink, they get even LOUDER and HOTTER from my testing.

I've had hands on experience in most of the 30 series cards dual fan cards already, they will run HOT!! A superposition test that use 6GB vram can throw them past 80 and start to slightly throttle to keep temps in check, this is even at very high fan speed of 80%.

For 2 fan design, palit jetstream and galax EX series seem promising. But do take note they are almost as big as 3 fan cards. There is a very good reason why the aftermarket coolers have to be THAT big.. both of these are 3 slot and 30CM in length!! It's insane.

The thing is most people that go 2 fan design don't have that good cooling in the first place as such is the nature of smaller chassis, so this is really important for those with small matx chassis! Pick the right card or cry after!

Gotcha, will look into this.

Yup. Thats me. Poor airflow case with palit dual fan card.

So with regards to the card itself, best I can do is to ensure good airflow and maybe like @proximus suggests, undervolt the card?

Imma get new case fans 1st. Replace the current stock ones and work from there. Good case fans can carry over to new case if I decide to change case.

i think they want u mount the gpu fans facin u

Most case with vertical mounting doesn't has good airflow due to too close to cover? Except maybe that lian li one but that is really to wide...any other recommendations?

for these cards 2 fan design, probably can consider palit jetstream and galax. i m not just talking about 3060ti only as the temps are just as hot as 3070.

zotac twin edge, msi ventus 2x and palit dual is just a big red flag.

Would PALIT RTX 3060 TI GAMING PRO 8GB OC be a better buy then given the issue with dual fans...?

haven't tested all the 3 fan design. i assume they would be much safer unless there is something really wrong with the design. :s13:
